Dixie Grill

A family from South Carolina, displaced by the military to the beautiful state of Hawaii we LOVE the Dixie Grill. From the specials they run on various months June is Crab month, to the regular menu Dixie Grill can't be beat when you want to feel a bit of home. They have Brunch on Saturday and Sunday, and when you ask for biscuits and gravy or grits they know EXACTLY what you are talking about. Try the country fried steak for dinner, you won't be disappointed! They are also very courteous if you ask for something "adjusted" on the menu....When we tried South Beach Diet they were more than willing to help us accommodate. It is a bit pricey for down home food but, we overlook that since they have a great kids menu, and a sandbox for the kids to roll around in while we wait for our crab legs and BBQ (try the Savannah sauce). The only reason they don't get the 5th star is because the service is often slow but well worth the wait~! more

Dixie Grill is located in Aiea on Kam Hwy. If you have ever driven this road, you have probably seen it. It is set up with a crab shack/party type atmosphere, with picnic tables and buckets on them for garbage. This is a fun, although usually expensive, place to eat. I also order the crab when I come here and it is always good, although it gets really messy because of how they cook it. I also always get a Screamin' Mai Tai. They are huge and cheap considering how much Mai Tai you get! One is enough for a night. The service is usually very friendly, although it can sometimes be slow because they are always really busy. The crowd can get a little loud sometimes, but that is the type of restuarant it is. There are also some tvs so that you can keep an eye on the game. You can eat outside, although we rarely do because it seems it is always too cold for that by the time we get in there. more

You can't miss Dixie Grill when going down Ward Ave. They have one of the largest signs that just screams out to customers. One bad thing is that parking is tight and limited in this area. A local favorite from here is their superb Buffalo Wings. If you love wings, you really have to stop by here! more
