Moderate prices 1/17/2006

While they're not giving the plants away, they could just as easily gouge you since they offer a unique service to the U Street/DuPont/Adams Morgan Community. Can you name one other place that sells plants in the city besides a few hole-in-the-wall flower shops? Particularly impressive is their selection of hanging plants. They also offer consulting services on creating effective gardens for your hme/condo. They're open year round, so you can always be assured they'll have seasonal specialties in stock for you. In addition, they have a board where local contractors can advertise their landscaping services. more

Urban Plant Store 8/17/2005

The Garden District plant shop on 14th Street is the perfect place to pick up some plant for anyone living in or around Dupont Circle or Logan Circle in DC. Their selection isn't great since the place is relatively small, but it should have what you need for apartment / condo style gardening, and it's right next door to Pulp and Home Rule, as well as a bunch of other new stores that have opened up on 14th Street. more

Got plants 8/15/2005

The urban plant store. They will answer your questions or tell you what you need, give you care and feeding instructions, re-pot in one of their fabulous pots, and send you out the door with a smile. Watch out for mosquitoes in the summer; you're lunch. Garden District seems to specialize in indoor plants, but they have plenty of fertilizer, and can do special orders. This only makes it harder for you when you kill the plants, as you inevitably will, you bad, bad plant parent. more
