Hosts the Market Street Food Court, Calypso Trading Post and Banana Cabana Pool Bar!!! 5/9/2006

Sometimes its really hard coming home after such a romantic and uplifting experience. Now back to real life (LOL) but I am awaiting all my photos to bring back the pure bliss my spouse and I enjoyed last week (smile). I wanted to list here all the neat places at our resort. There is the Market Street Food Court with 4 separate counter service shops (open am to pm); The Banana Cabana Pool Bar was a great hit where you could sip on frozen drips made with favorite berries and rum or vodka while sitting at the pool!!!! (Open from noon to Midnight) and they also had the Calypso Trading Post where I bought all kinds of souvenirs and the daily paper. Shop open daily from 6:30 am - 11 pm. more

A Shortcut to the Caribbean!!! 5/6/2006

I called this the caribbean village and both my spouse and myself adored every aspect about it!!! We were at the Martinique bldg which is right next to Old Port Royal Centertown which is always buzzing with activities. You can rent boats by the 1/2 hour to ride over to the Carribean Cay Island, or you might rent a bike-shaw for a family of 4 to tour. There are gift shoppes and Shutters Restaurant @ the Old Port Royal. And there is the feature Pool area. We chose to linger at the beach close by which is lined with hammocks and of course, miles of white sand. It was so serene and picture perfect!!! more

A little of the Caribbean in Disney World! 4/16/2006

The Caribbean Beach Resort is located in Walt Disney World. It is a moderate price range hotel on Disney property. If you love the Caribbean and the beach consider staying here when you visit Disney World. The theming is so nice- it is colorful and whimsical- you might forget you are in Orlando and think you are on a Caribbean Island. If you trying to stay within a moderate budget, this is a good place to stay. The rooms are clean and nice- it's not a luxury resort, but you will find it has all you need. You hardly spend anytime in your room when you visit Disney World. The Port Royale is where the main pool, food court and shops are located. Request a building close to it if you don't want too far of a walk in the morning. I found the bus service to the parks to be quick and efficient. more

More affordable but still very nice! 4/10/2006

This resort is great because it’s so nice with the island theme and it is more affordable than some others on the WDW property. However, everything is a BUS ride away, so plan on spending some time on crowded buses to visit the parks. They have nice pools and rooms. The resort itself is very spaced out and the rooms had outside entry right into the room. Very nice accommodations though. more

A Caribbean Oasis 10/3/2005

If you love the Caribbean, you will love this resort. This place is gorgeous to look at, with each of it's 'island' areas themed differently with different colors and names such as Jamaica and Trinidad. The resort itself has a food and shopping area as well as a great pool area. The resort, however, is extremely massive and can be an annoyance to get around, especially with small children. There are bus stops scattered all throughout the resort, though, so if you're going to the parks, it should be a short walk to a bus stop. more
