Discovery Land Child Care

Our mission at Discovery Land Child Care Center is to provide a nurturing environment that helps the growth and development of the young child. We will prepare our young children for future learning in the least restrictive way and to help parents with the challenge of meeting their child?s developmental needs.
We believe that play is the best means of facilitating learning in young children.
Learning is maximized in our language-based program where children interact through child-initiated and teacher supported developmentally appropriate activities. Our nurturing environment fosters learning, socialization, speech, language, and motor skills. We also provide opportunities to make choices through integrated cooperative play to develop problem-solving skills, promote independence, and to highlight the uniqueness of every child.

ASSOCIATION
Discovery Land Child Care Center employs qualified staff for all positions and exceeds the required state licensing standard for child t o teacher ratios. Our teachers receive ongoing educational training. The depth and score of our staff is evident in our experiences. Our staff has a strong commitment to an early childhood education experience which children learn by doing.
Our Director, Norma Jean Rabideau, is responsible for the curriculum, daily operations, and staff training. She is always available to you for any questions or concerns.

The curriculum at Discovery Land Child Care Center is developmental in nature and child-centered in focus. The purpose of the program is to work with the parents and early childhood professionals to provide an individualized curriculum that recognizes each child?s strengths as well as weaknesses. The important learning tools for the children may include toys, building blocks, creative arts materials, music and movement items, and materials for dramatic play.
