Discovery Cove

I was a bit apprensive about paying nearly $600 for my husband and I to go to Discovery Cove on a recent vacation, but it was totally worth it! The dolphin swimming experience was shorter than desired, but we got to touch them, ride along with them, kiss them, and watch them do tricks. You can not take photos, but they have professional photographers who take them for you to purchase. The snorkeling area was incredible as well, a great experience. There is also a heated swimming area, a lazy river area, and an aviary to feed the birds. I loved the beautiful white sand "beach" area. It was so nice to just relax and lay back in a hammock and enjoy the nice Florida weather. The food was great too - continental breakfast, lunch, and drinks and snacks all day long are included which was a big plus. I would only recommend it if you are a very good swimmer, however. Many of the areas were 8-15+ feet deep. They do have life jackets to wear, but it can still be a little nerve racking! more

Well worth every penny of the expensive admission price, Discovery Cove is an oasis in the midst of Orlando. Of course, the swimming with a dolphin is the highlight of the day, but the other features are worth mentioning. Swimming in the "river" into the aviary, wading with rays... and the food. The food is good and plentiful. A very relaxed day, and unforgettable. more
