I have used Dirty Tails for matting issues on a long hair cat and nail cutting on a feral cat--both difficult tasks which I was not willing to tackle. The owner greeted me pleasantly, listened to the specific issues with the cats and offered to give it a try. In all 3 circumstances Kirstin was true to her word and accomplished the task with ease. Fast forward 8 months; I have decided to try a Lion Cut on the long haired 20 pound cat. My fear was that it would be too stressful for the cat and would negate the benefits of reducing his issues with heat and fur balls. Again Kirstin said she would give it a try. I am totally happy and delightlfully impressed with the wonderful job Dirty Tails has done with this cut--and the cat couldn't be happier. It took him about 2 minutes to adjust to his new haircut and proudly walk around to show off to everyone. I have to say that Dirty Tails is a very professional grooming salon that is totally in tune to the animal and the owners wishes and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you give them a try. Donna M Ierardi more

I recently just starting bringing my little maltese carter to Dirty Tails in Plainville, CT to get groomed and when I picked his up he just looked so wonderful and cute. In addition Dirty Tails isn?t like any other grooming shop that I have been too. If you want you can come in yourself and bathe your own dog and they supply all the supplies shampoo, towels, brushes, and also dryers. Also the girls there are just so friendly and helpful with whatever question that you may have. So I would deff recommend this place if your looking for a new groomer or if your just new to the area. They are also very convient too if they can they will try to take your dog in the same day that you call which I cant say about a lot a lot of grooming shops. Anyways Dirty Tails is a awesome facailty to bring you dog or cat to get groomed. more

HAVE YOU EVER TRIED TO BATH A 160 LB MASTIFF THAT HAS AN AVERSION TO WATER IN A BATH TUB. WELL, TAKE MY WORD FOR IT, IT ISN'T PRETTY. THAT WAS UNTIL TINY AND I DISCOVERED DIRTY TAILS. DIRTY TAILS HAS THESE WONDERFUL, DOGGIE BATH TUBS WHICH ARE DOG & OWNER FRIENDLY. THEY ALSO PROVIDE SHAMPOO, TOWELS, DRYERS, & AS MUCH ASSISTANCE AS YOU WANT TO GET THE JOB DONE RIGHT. COMBINE THAT WITH A VERY CLEAN FACILITY, SUPER FRIENDLY STAFF, A CONVENIENT LOCATIION RIGHT OFF THE HIGHWAY, & REASONABLE PRICES & YOU HAVE, WELL, TINY'S PARADISE. WE HAVE BEEN TO DIRTY TAILS AT LEAST HALF A DOZEN TIMES & MY WATER SHY DOG, NOW PUTS HIMSELF INTO THE TUB. YOU LEAVE WITH A CLEAN DOG AND LEAVE ALL THE DOG HAIR, WET DOG SMELL, DIRTY TOWELS, & DIRTY DOG SPLATTER BEHIND. THE ONLY TRICKY PART IS GETTING TINY PAST THE BAKERY CASE FILLED WITH DOGGY TREATS THAT LOOK GOOD ENOUGH FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION. I WAS ACTUALLY TOLD THAT EVERY THING IN THE CASE IS SAFE FOR HUMANS, BUT I THINK I'LL TAKE THE OWNER'S WORD FOR THAT. ANYONE THAT HAS EVER TRIED TO BATHE THEIR DOG AT HOME OWES IT TO THEIR BACK, BATH ROOM, & PLUMBING TO TRY DIRTY TAILS. STOP BY AND TELL THEM TINY SENT YOU!!!!! more

I've taken my Scotty and schnauzer there and both dogs were really happy when I picked them up. The girls there are very nice and always ask how they did and the prices are very reasonable. I would recommend this place to everyone! more

I brought my Persian cat for a lion cut and they charged $70.00 for a very messy job. I called 6 other groomers in the area and even in Avon which is usually more expensive than Bristol. They all included a bath, nail trim, and ear cleaning for $55 - $60. I asked why it cost $70 with just the bath and she said because the bath costs as much as the cut and she gave me a discount for both!!!??? It looked like whoever cut him had never done it before. For that price he should have looked professionally done. VERY DISAPPOINTING. I should have asked the price first and for that I am wrong. But..... I give them no stars!!!!! Cons: Expensive and messy. more
