Don't listen to the snobs who don't like Dinner A'Fare! 4/28/2010

I'm so disappointed that Dinner A'fare has gotten some not-so-wonderful reviews. Clearly, the reviewers had their knickers in a twist that day. I believe that Dinner A'fare has saved me countless dollars (and hours) over the last two years that I have been a customer. My husband and I always order the full size package so that we have plenty of yummy leftovers for lunch the next day. For those of you that complained about the portion sizes...add a nice salad or order the full size package! I also love that Dinner A'Fare has the Weight Watchers points figured out for you and printed on the directions that come with each meal. Seriously, Dinner A'Fare is amazing. I would recommend it to anyone who is serious about healthy eating, saving money and having more free time! Pros: Wonderful food, healthy, less expensive than competitors more

I love Dinner A'Fare! 12/7/2009

Eight months ago I started using Dinner A'Fare. I just love this place and the food I make there! I'm there every month and make all my family's meals there. A friend recommended Dinner A'Fare to me after my husband and I had a budget wake up call and realized how many times per week we were eating out. Not being a fantastic cook or good at meal planning - I was looking for solutions on how to provide healthy meals and not lose the creativity of a dining out experience, all at a lower cost than eating out. I found my solution at Dinner A'Fare. I choose the meals I want and have fun at their beautiful prep kitchen putting them together (my husband often goes with me and we have a blast doing it together). I feel like a real chef putting everything together. Of course, if I have a busy month and can't come in it's super-easy to have them prep it for me with their ""stand-in-chef"" service. At home I just pull a meal out of the freezer every day prior to when I need it. Then I go through the step-by-step process to prepare them - it's always super-easy. Like frankiebee said, I have been really impressed with the quality of their fresh meat. The meats don't have a freezer-taste to them - they thaw out wonderfully. We get the meals that serve 2-3 people. I always add a side or bagged salad and we've always have leftovers. I have found the staff to be very friendly and they are great at reminding me about getting my frequent buyer card stamped. I really appreciate that. After 6 packages you get 50% off the 7th package. It was a great savings! Pros: great value vs. eating out, easy, fun, love the meals more

Very happy Customer 6/9/2009

I drive down to Cool Springs (against my better judgement) about once every 6-8 weeks to prepare meals at the Dinner A'Fare on Cool Springs Blvd, and have been doing so since they opened 2.5 years ago. FULL DISCLOSURE: This is the only location I have been to. Pros: Value, flexibility, quality meat Cons: Up-front investment, in Cool Springs more

Do Not Go to this location 12/29/2008

I'm single and thought what a great way to save money but still eat fresh home cooked food. Big mistake! There was nothing fresh in this place. When I first went into this place, I met with Shannon (owner/manager) and I immediately felt like I was buying a car from a used car salesman. I tried to explain to Shannon that before committing to a 'meal plan' I would like to try it a few times and if I thought there was value in the concept I would consider a 'meal plan'. Once I told Shannon that I was not interested in a more expensive plan her customer service skills went out the window. For example, I had a few questions about the menu and process and Shannon told me I had to wait until I was done making my meals to ask questions - what! I ended up making 4 meals and found the food to be bland. The sauces were cold and had no spices added to them. The pasta/noodles were over cooked and the vegetables were not ?garden fresh?. For the prices charged I would have expected a much better experience! Do not waste your money and I'd recommend customer service training for Shannon! Cons: Over Priced more

Best Meal Prep 3/12/2008

I went to The Dinner A'Fare in Murfreesboro, TN last week with a group of friends LOVED IT! We took a bottle of wine and the staff served an appetizer for our private party. The staff was not only polite but very helpful. Mason and Teresa own and run the store, while Courtney is a session assistant. All of the meats were fresh hand-cut. I bought the 12 meals for 2 to 3 people and the portion sizes were more than enough. We even had left overs a few nights. I was also very impressed in the cleanliness of the store. I highly recommend it! Pros: Fresh hand cut meats, friendly and helpful staff, very clean store more

HORRIBLE experience...DO NOT GO!!!!! 8/24/2007

Had to pick up my meals...already prepared, b/c of an unexpected sick child (cost $35 more), and the portions were TINY, majority of the food was bland, all OVER PRICED. You can go around the corner to Wolfgang Pucks (fabulous) and have a fresh, yummy meal for 4 for almost the cost of this place (entrees, plus sides, etc). Or, just go to Costco's cold case or freezer, and save the hassile of this joint. I got two of the same entree that was suppose to come with a black bean salsa for 4, and it literally only had 2 Tablespoons of salsa, for 4 people (and black beans cost 50 cents a can????). Anyway, I contacted Shannon, the owner or manager, about my disappointment, and she admitted that someone else had complained about the portions, but offered no recourse....no refund for these two meals (about $30), or a free meal next time, etc. Also, ordered lettuce wraps, and they sent with me wilted green leaf lettuce....aren't you suppose to serve lettuce wraps with crisp iceberg lettuce??? Don't go...waste of money and time! Cons: management needs training in customer service, food bad, over price, portions small more
