I go to the Franklin Street location, though I may have to switch this up since Sunrise recently opened a new venue that's in the Southpoint area where I live. This is one of those dentists that runs coupons in the ValPak Mailers. I've always thought this a bit questionable -- what kind of scary dentist, the type who has to offer buy-one-get-one-free extractions to attract penny-pinching customers, was I in store for? But you can relax -- Sunrise is just like every other dentist I've been to (and after two sets of braces, headgear, and every other orthodontic procedure imaginable, I've certainly seen my fair share of offices); aquariums with fishies, a lounge stocked with books and magazines, brightly painted murals in the cleaning rooms. more

The chairs here even have shiatsu massage, to really put you at ease. Ashamed to admit it, but -- in addition to regular check-ups -- I've also had a few fillings done here and it's always handled quickly and professionally (and is also a lot more pain-free than I remember them being at age 7!) more

I have been going to this practice for 5 years now and take my 11 year old and my 22 year old daughter as well. I cannot ever say enough good things about Dr. Dirk Vice. I am one of those patients who is terrified of the dentist office and he is the best dentist I have ever had, hands down. He really cares about his patients, has always been honest, doesn't ever do unneccessary work just to charge patients like many dentists do and will even do extra things like whitening with other work performed at no extra charge. Seriously, he is the best dentist in Raleigh and I don't work there - I am an honest single mom who just thinks the world of this practice. more

My husband, my two oldest children and I have been going to Sunrise Dental for years. They are skilled at working with both adults and small children. We have seen all the dentists there and have been pleased with each one. The dental hygienists are friendly and professional. My 3 year old got a cavity filled there and wasn't upset at all because the dentist and hygienist handled it so gently. Also, Sunrise Dental often sends $50 coupons in the Money Mailer for any service. more

....I have never had a great experience with dentists. I said as much when I went to these guys, hoping that they'd try hard to create a good experience for me. Well...it depends on what you're having done. The assistants are very friendly and they do try to make you comfortable and relaxed. But I guess that its just a chairside manner with dentists or something, but Dr Goetz is a bit too stiff. Nice enough, but not relaxed enough to relax me. I suppose its hard to be pleasant when you're looking down in the mouth all day. And what would make one choose this as a career, anyway? Well the plan is for me to spend about $20K with them to get a Hollywood smile. (Not in this lifetime.) Especially since I've heard from other people now that they got estimates of $15-20K as well. Guess I'll keep looking...Can't say anything bad happened, just not what I was looking for. more

I honestly had not been to the dentist in 6 years due to terrifying fear of any dental procedure. A cleaning made me more afraid than anyone can imagine. I went to Sunrise Dental due to agonizing pain from a chipped molar. After learning that I needed a root canal, I only thought of how I could get out of the situation. Realizing there was no way around it, I returned to Dr. Meckler at Sunrise for my root canal. Dr. Meckler coached me through it, telling me how important it was that he give me a comfortable experience so that it would not be a negative one that would deter me from returning again. Today, 7 hours after my root canal, I have to say that I am in no pain, feeling much better than I was this morning with the pain from my tooth, and no fear of returning for something as simple as a cleaning and perhaps more work. Dr. Meckler, his assistant, Carla, and Kristin C., the front office staff member, treated me with respect and as if I was family. They moved their schedule around t more

Sunrise is a well-oiled machine. I did not have to wait more than five minutes for my appointment. I moved swiftly from reception to the hygeniest and then the dentist came in. The office is quiet and calming. They treat all people and took especially good care of the kids. They were very sensitive to a scared child and took great effort to make her comfortable at her pace. I would recommend them to anyone. All of the staff is very personable and knowledgeable. They make the dentist visit fun. more

Great place . One of the only places that take credit card payments, in and out with appointment tell you all that you need done, Very nice and friendly , althou some of the girls are a little unprofessional , Clean area and bathrooms and the dentists are very into what you need or what your having problems with , also open to walk in or ER that need to be taken care of ASAP , Just a great all around service hard to find in Raleigh . more
