I was considering Dimon Construction in Manlius, NY, so I started doing a web search to learn more about the company. This was a couple of months ago.
At that time, most of the reviews I saw were mediocre at best, and some of the reviews were extremely negative. The negative reviews all talked about a general lack of responsiveness from the company once papers were signed and the job was started.
I was out of town for a couple of months, so I started my research again this month. All of a sudden, the web is populated with all of these super-positive reviews about Dimon Construction. I investigated further, and it seems like almost all of these super-positive reviews were ?written? in June and July of this year.
I counted 15 very positive reviews all published within the past two months. How many small business contractors have 15 jobs completed inside of two months? My guess is none.
I checked their website, and Dimon Construction has 5 carpenters listed. Can 5 carpenters complete 15 kitchen or bathroom remodeling projects in just two months? Even if they could, would all 15 customers run straight to the web to talk about how great the company is? I don?t think so.
I then clicked on some of the ?reviewers? who were praising Dimon Construction in Manlius, NY. It appears that the bulk of those reviewers also reviewed a particular bridal shop and a roofing contractor ? all on the same day. The bridal shop and roofing contractor were in the New York City/Long Island area, but Dimon Construction is in Manlius, NY, a suburb of Syracuse, a good 5 hours away from New York City.
So - - - what are the odds that Dimon Construction did 15 jobs in the past two months, and every single customer had rave reviews? What are the odds that these same 15 customers also had a need to buy a wedding dress, and then replace their roof, all within a couple of months? What are the odds that even though their remodeling project was done in Manlius, NY, these reviewers then purchased their wedding dress and replaced their roof in New York City?
I believe the odds of this are ZERO and that Dimon Construction has hired a company to post FAKE REVIEWS of their business.
Don?t take my word for it. Click through some of the reviews that are posted on CitySearch for Dimon Construction and you?ll see what I mean. If you do a Google Search for ?Dimon Construction Reviews? you will see more detailed reviews from a few years ago that it appears Dimon Construction wanted to hide.
I understand that companies want a positive presence on the web, but it appears that Dimon Construction is posting FAKE REVIEWS in an attempt to deceive potential customers.
I am very glad I figured this out before I actually hired them. They might be a great company, but I certainly question their ethics if they are posting fake reviews.
