This is a great neighborhood pub.. The owners are the best ever...Wish they were in my neighborhood more

Best Suds on the North Side 3/8/2010

Finally a pub with a truly diverse beer selection! Don't bother ordering Miller or Bud, they don't have it. These are beers you typically can only find in Central Market or Specs Liquor Stores, and they aren't charging an arm and a leg for them. The service is excellent! The pour-artists really know their stuff. They are about to expand, which will be great for larger parties. The best part is, not having to drive very far (if you live in the Round Rock/Cedar Park/Leander area). If you're looking for a good selection of microbrews without the crowds and high prices, definitely check out the Dig Pub. Pros: Beer Selection, Service, Atmosphere Cons: Nada more

Friendly People 1/11/2010

Friendly environment and relaxing atmosphere. Pros: Friendly more

A Favorite Hang out 6/16/2009

My husband and I love meeting friends and playing darts at the Dig. It may be small but we always seem to get a table. Best beer selection and a fun clean and friendly environment. The owners always seem to be on the premises which probably accounts for the great service. Pros: too many to list Cons: a little loud at times more

Good looking friendly staff more

Sure beats driving home from Austin! 7/29/2008

This is definitely the best place to get a good microbrew on tap in Cedar Park/Leander area (something that area is sorely lacking in!). We went on a Monday night and it was not crowded, in spite of Monday being ""Happy Hour"" all day ($3 pints). They must have had a good crowd over the weekend, as at least a half dozen taps were out, but there was still a good selection. Tried a Zydeco sandwich, which was excellent! Salsa was good, too. There was no such thing as a ""bad pour"" with these guys.... they fill to the rim!! Staff is very friendly and personable. We live in LV, so it's still a bit of a drive, but it sure beats driving home all the way from Austin! Pros: beer selection; location; food Cons: several taps were out; not a lot of seating more

Best Pub in the North Austin Area 7/28/2008

This pub has the best beer selection around. When I first walked in I noticed Arrogant B****** on tap which is a rariety. The service is on par with any of your favorite local watering holes but the atmosphere is dive bar sans the dirty location. The bartenders are knowledgable of the products and are refreshing compared to the service your probably used to elsewhere. The pub is small but there is an outside deck area that has a few small tables and a few picnic tables as well. Darts and cards are FREE and the sandwhiches aren't too bad either. Excellent beer selection, superb service, good prices, and live music put this pub in a league of its own in an area that is seriously devoid of classy adult esablishments. Pros: Great Beer. Great Service. Nice location. Cons: Small more

Unique pub with great atmosphere, even better beer 5/20/2008

It is simply a fun place to hang out. They only serve beer and wine, but the quality of both are great. They offer a variety of high quality American microbrews of all different styles. Their menu not only lists the names of the beers, but gives a full description of the flavor and history of the beer. Pros: Atmosphere, Beer selection Cons: Small location, Gets crowded fast more

Best Beer selection in cedar park-PERIOD! 5/20/2008

Living on the edge of northwest austin, I just do not always want to drive to the draught house. This place is about 3 miles from me and there happy hour is from 4-6pm which is half price pints. They also have sierra nevada porter mustard for their pretzels. They have about 26 taps and you will not find the MACROS/BMC beers here (Bud, Miller, Coors) This bar is for the serious when it comes to beer. If you are a fan of the BMC beers stop on by have an open mind they will server you samples to see if you like the beer before you buy. Try their cider. The staff is friendly and the owner is kewl as well. You can find him playing darts alot of the times. Pros: Very nice beer selection, great prices, great pub food. Cons: Small, but they are just starting out more

If you love beer in CP, stop here... 5/10/2008

The Dig as it has become known is a great place to relax and have a few Microbrews. They have rolating taps so they always have new beers to try, no bud or miller beers here :), just great hight alcohol brews. And in Cedar Park there is really no competition. It is very popular and a little small but the owns really stuck gold ( pun!!) and I think it will be growing soon. Great happy hour and the staff is friendly and know their beer. Cheers!!!!! Pros: Beer, Staff is friendly, Atmoshere is great, Live Music Cons: Small more

Cultural Center of the Universe 3/21/2008

My co-worker and I have been going here since it opened. This place is a truly awesome classy joint. The beer selection is very diverse, and the staff is eager to help you find what you are looking for. Our waitress remembers us and remembers what we order everytime. The ambience is super chill. They also have the best sandwiches I have ever eaten. This place has improved my vocabulary. I ordered an olive sandwich on accident, and I hate olives. But this sandwich still kicked a$$ and I ate three quarters of it until I figured it out! I guess the olive thing is mostly mental. I take new people here all the time. Mondays are the best, the all night happy hour is an unbeatable value. The dig pub is a very ambitious and well executed dream. Pros: Great overall experience Cons: Sometimes they run out of stuff, and I wish happy hour still went to seven more

They know how to run a PUB!!!! 2/14/2008

This couple is living thier dream of owning and running a great place for friends and locals to relax and unwind. They take PRIDE in thier beer, wine and service..totally dedicated to the place and have a friendly fun staff!! Check them out soon!!! Pros: Draws in the right crowd Cons: eventually need more seating!!! more

Beer Pub Supreme 2/7/2008

A true pub among pubs --- beers on draft that are not available anywhere else in Austin, with a newsletter describing same written monthly by the resident brewmeister. Incredible prices and specials, good food and great, friendly service, nice decor and the feel of a true bar --- check this spot out sooner rather than later as the crowds will surely grow. more

Best darn bar in Cedar Park 2/7/2008

Don't come to 'The Dig' and order a Bud/Miller/Coors Light. There is a bar for you on 1431, it's called The Post (which I also dig by the way - pun intended, but it is what it is, a dusty bar that reminds your in Cedar Park Texas, not Austin). more

Fabulous Atmosphere 12/26/2007

Great owner, great staff, great beer, just great. A Starbucks with beer. Overstuffed couch in a bar? This ain't Mo's. Great Music when I was there, too. Pros: Easy parking Cons: Perhaps could be a bit bigger. Seating was full. more

Good food, good beer, good wine, good people. 11/28/2007

Austin, get jealous! Cedar Park has a real pub! It's was a long time coming but it was well worth the wait. The Dig is not a cocktail lounge or bar, it's a pub! The difference? The Dig serves quality hand-crafted micro-brew beers, nice wines, simple food, and is a great places for the ""public"" to gather. The name pub originated in England.--a public house, where the locals could gather and relax and catch up on the news of the village. The Dig serves toasted sandwiches (just like of the old traditional pubs in England and Ireland) which are AWESOME (with ingredients like Gorgonzola and non-individually wrapped ""processed cheese products"", deli meats, fresh basil, peppers etc.) The decor and furnishings fit the archeology theme. There's even a little area with comfy stuffed chairs and a sofa and coffee table with archeology books to peruse. Pros: Food, beer, wine, service, clientele Cons: No salads on menu but the Blue Tomato ROCKS. more
