I recently took my bike to Dick's to get a new rim. I bought the bike from Dicks on clearance, and it has been excellent thus far. The company that makes it manufactures the bike especially for Dick's stores. I was told that the bike needed a new rim, which they would order on Monday. I got a call on Wednesday saying that they looked at my bike, and that they would order me a new rim. I was mad because they told me the same exact thing on Sunday, so three days were wasted. A week later, I got the same exact phone call, saying that they would order me a rim. I was extremely upset, since my bike had just been sitting there. I talked to the store manager, who wasn't nice, and didn't want to help. I told him not to fix the bike, and I would come pick it up. A few days later, I got a call saying that they had the rim, put it on, and I could come pick the bike up. I was furious, and called the corporate office. They completely agreed with me, and were going to talk to the manager and get back with me about what they would do. I disputed the charges on my credit card, and I have not heard back from them. I am not going to purchase another bike from Dick's, since I do not want to deal with their bike repair again. Their bikes have special parts that you can't find anywhere else, and I do not want to return to Dick's.
