I paid $75 for a sales pitch.
I wound up getting a brand new water heater from another company for a third of the cheapest price you quoted me.

RESPONSE FROM Dial ONE Schilling Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning:
Paul, I'm sorry you were disappointed in our services. However, the "sales pitch" as you call it is an important part of the communication process to ensure both parties are on the same page concerning the work to be done and its' cost. In your case, numerous code violations and the unsanitary working conditions with your water heater being covered with rodent feces needed to be discussed and dealt with beforehand. Had we proceeded without this discussion, we would have made the code and safety corrections and you would have been unhappy with the cost. By having a meeting of the minds beforehand, you were at least informed of the violations. You were able to use this information to find someone who was willing to perform the work to your standards. As a licensed and bonded contractor, we feel it's our duty to uphold workmanlike and sanitary conditions that meet today's health and safety codes.
