Yes these animals are in an unfortunate situation. From what I hear there is a 90% kill rate. But this is all the more reason to adopt from this shelter! I do not know the circumstances the employees have to work with but I do know that they have been the most friendly and helpful animal shelter I have experienced thus far. They were very interested in helping me help their four legged friends. The cages were clean and dogs seemed calm for being in a kennel situation (I have seen a lot of distraught dogs these past few weeks). Some dogs did appear to have health conditions that need tending to but I do not know what is or isn't being done for them. Dogs also seemed to be paired well with other dogs. If you are looking to find a new fury friend, start here. It's a little extra drive, but imagine what it means to that animal if you make it out there.
