Devito South Beach Llc

Went to eat at DiVito's last night. We had an early reservation, because we had somewhere to be at 7:30 p.m. Arrived at 5:25 p.m. for a 5:30 p.m. reservation. We were told that we would need to sit at the bar for another 15 minutes. When questioned about this they said they would seat us when they were "ready for us". They did not seat us until 5:45. At this point someone came to get us to seat us outside. We didn't want to be seated outside. He said he would "see what he could do". The restaurant was, as far as we knew, empty. He came back and took us upstairs where two other couples were already seated. Even though we'd been cooling our heels at the bar for over 15 minutes. We were seated at a tiny table. At this point we were so hungry I didn't care. The service was average, the food was good. My husband had Kobe steak which was $25 per ounce. It was delicious. Toward the end of our meal they lead another party through the upstairs area and were planning to seat them outside. The woman announced "first you give us the worst table in the restaurant. Now you try to seat us outside.". The man yelled "that's it, we're out of here. This restuarant is empty. And I'm going to call Danny Divito and tell him about you" indicating the hostess who had made us wait and then forgotten about us. We won't be going back. I can do without the pretensious South Beach cooler than thou attitude. It is, ultimately, just a GOOD restaurant. Pros: Good steak, pretty decor.... Cons: Attitude, mediocre service. more

We went here for NYE. We were very disappointed with the service and meal. Our dinner was $250 each person plus $25 extra for each glass of champagne to toast at midnight. It was supposed to be a 5 course meal. They forgot to bring us 2 of the courses and by the time our main course came it was 1 am. We sat down at 9:30pm. They did not even bring us drinks until we were sitting for about an hour at the table. They tacked on 20% for tip already on our bill. This kind of thing is unacceptable for such an expensive meal. We did not even get half of it! The steak we got was good but the meal was not worth the $800 bill for 2 people. We were really let down by this place. Unorganized and overpriced New Years Dinner. Maybe if the service was better and we actually got 5 courses we would not have such a bad review on this place. Pros: ambience, steak Cons: bad service, expensive, half our meal did not come more

Went to SoBe with some friends and was recommended Devito's for the b-day celebration. While the food was good the desserts are over the top and has to be seen and tasted. the banana zeppole and cheesecake lollipops cotton candy was amazing. more
