Good zoo 11/19/2006

I have been to the zoo a couple of times...I think it is a pretty good zoo, especially for kids. It's maintained pretty well and its pretty clean. There is a lot to learn and do for people of all ages. My favorite exhibits are the polar bears, the lions, and the butterflies. The tram is also fun to ride. Pros: Good zoo, nice exhibits more

The Best!!!! 8/7/2002

What a great place for kids, for solitude, or for romance. The Detroit Zoological Society is a great way to enjoy the zoo year round. You get an unlimited use pass for whatever size family group package you choose. The animal enclosures are very viewer friendly. Make sure you check the feeding schedule and cath the bear feeding. The polar bear disply totally rocks. Watch polar baears from an underwater vantage. The Gardens are exquisite. Don't forgetto ride the train. Pros: animal diversity, good parking, seasonal passes avail Cons: park tram $140.00, better concession, hours of operation more

Polar Bear Heaven 7/21/2002

The new exhibit, the Arctic Ring of Life is fabulous. The polar bears have so much room to play, the seals have a great area to swim, it's wonderful. I think what they have given to these animals is a better environment so the animals don't get bored, a chance to have their minds stimulated more so that they're happier. Their new home is something I think this city should be proud of. Pros: The Arctic Ring, Butterfly House more

  • In Short
Animals from all over the world roam in the Detroit Zoo's landscaped habitats. Visitors can wander on their own along marked paths and check out attractions like the river otter building or a creepy reptile house. The indoor-outdoor Amphibiville exhibit features more than 60 species of amphibians--from tadpoles to the world's largest species of frog, weighing in at a slimy 10 pounds.
