Best

Finally, great comedy where you don't have to cover the kid's ears. Every time I go, I come away with a side ache from laughing so hard. Pros: Family oriented, Funny, Affor...

Worst

I hate to even give this any kind of a star. The play ""bipolar express"". was lame and boring. Seemed like something my kids would have put on or you would see at an amature high...

Rooin' Tootin' Family Fun 9/1/2002

I have been going to the Desert Star Playhouse for the past 6 or 7 years....in that time I have missed only 6 shows. I think it's a great place for family and friends. I take new people all the time and I always ask me when I am going to go again. It's a new experience everytime and it just keeps getting better. I LOVE THAT PLACE!!!! more

GREAT FUN! 8/30/2002

You can get serious plays elsewhere, but this is the place to let your hair down and hoot and holler! The players are professional, but really get into spoofing and cutting up. You never know exactly what will happen either, because they throw in ad-libs now and then, just to keep things lively. They're a lot like Rocky and Bullwinkle - great for kids, but the jokes are for adults. Great place to laugh and hav a good time. Pros: Inexpensive, Great actors, plenty of parking Cons: a little crowded, parking lot pot holes more

6 8/30/2002

The service was good and the food was served a little slow. I had the T-bone and my wife the ribs. The steak was large, but had a lot of bone and grissel and lacking in taste. It would have been better if the steak was smaller, but thicker. I tasted my wifes's ribs and they were delicious. I wouldn't go out of my way to dine there again or order the T-bone. Might dine there afain, if I went to the theater. Pros: good service, clean Cons: poorly lit, cuts of meat more

FALL OUT OF MY SEAT FUN 8/29/2002

I was filled with so much laughter it started coming out of my eyes in tears. I've enjoyed every show I've ever seen. From show to show, my family awaits the next family night at the Desert Star Playhouse. I am so happy they're rated #1 in the Best Family Outing--because it truely is one of the best!! Great price, great entertainment, and even though the seats are a little close, we enjoy how we can really enjoy somthing all together. Thanks D.S.P. for all the fun and good memories Pros: Great Price, Laugh a minute, Entertaining Cons: Bad servers, No alcohol, Bad servers more

Food, Folks, and Fun! 8/22/2002

We have had season tickets for about 5 or 6 years. I love the atmosphere and I always have a good time. You'll laugh for sure and sometimes more than you'd like. Scott is my favorite. Especially when he goes out of his way to stump the other actors. We usually get pizza when we go, but last time we tried the steak house. Now that's good steak! I would definitely go there again. The staff was really good about getting us finished before the show started. It's a family tradition we've enjoyed for years and hopefully for years to come. Pros: laugh factor, good shows, all around fun Cons: seats more

Thumbs UP 8/21/2002

While the show was a little slow at times, you can always count on Desert Star for a fun filled night of good clean laughs. more

What a STEAK oughtta be... 8/21/2002

My wife and I thought we'd finally try the Desert Star Steakhouse, since we'd been going to the Theater for years and MAN, what a value. The steak I had was TWO POUNDS. Would have cost me thirty dollars anywhere else. My wife had the salmon and I tried a bite...it was the BEST salmon I've ever tasted. We're going back ASAP. You can't beat the prices for the meat quality. Pros: Value, Meat quality Cons: Service a little, scattered more

Fill-up & Laugh 8/19/2002

Desert Star Steak House has the best steak in town. After filling up with steak you can watch a hysterical show at Desert Star Playhouse. Pros: Great steak & more, Good seating Cons: Expensive more

Water's hard to come by in this Desert 8/19/2002

What a great way to catch dinner and a show! Here you get both without having to leave your seat! The remodeled theatre has a good feel, the people are nice, and the shows are very funny! My only gripe is the food service. I've been here before with no problems, but on my last visit my order wasn't taken until after intermission, and the food seems a little overpriced - they even charged me for my water! But don't let that keep you away; it's still a very fun place to spend an evening. Cons: Expensive Food more

The Best Abdominal Excercise 8/18/2002

Desert Star Playhouse is the best place to go if you want to get a good abdominal excercise without exerting much effort. I have never laughed harder at a Theater Production than when I have attended one at Desert Star. It's a great place to go for fun, family, entertainment! I give it five stars! ***** Pros: Inexpensive, Okay Parking Cons: Tight Seating more

funniest plays around 8/17/2002

I just came back from seeing one of their plays and it kept me laughing. My teenage boys even laughed, which is sometimes hard to get them to do. This is the best place to go when you need to laugh. Pros: humorous, good food, courteous service Cons: needs to be louder more
