great doctor! 7/29/2008

Dr. Dwight Derisi is a wonderful, kind and thorough doctor. After months of tests, numerous mammography places & other doctors. I finally found Dr. Derisi, he was so gentle and calming. I had to have a surgical biopsy on calcifications, but before he made that decision he had me go to get a steriotactic biopsy at Nassau Radiology (they are also wonderful) , he wanted to be sure that the surgery was 100% necessary before doing it. It was necessary and he and his staff made me feel very calm. The surgery went well and thankfully they came back benign. Dr. Derisi left me with no visible scar. I would recommend him (and have!) to anybody having any sort of breast issues. more

Find a better doctor! 5/10/2007

I would not recommend Dr. Derisi to my worst enemy. He was recommended to me by my boss (his late wife suffered from breast cancer) for my mother. When my mother met Dr. Derisi he was very charming and nice, but after doing a biopsy on my mother he told her that her breast cancer did not spread. Only to find out that it did and metastasized at a really fast rate. I should have known something was wrong with this man when he constantly operated on my boss wife (every year). Unfortunately, because of his misdiagnosis my mother didn?t get the proper care when she should have and passed away last year at the very young age of 52. To all those that read this review, do you and loved one?s a favor and STAY AWAY from Dr. Derisi. more

Dwight DeRisi M.D. is the gold standard in breast cancer surgery!!! 8/8/2006

I read a review that stated Dr. Dwight Derisi was nice, but the wait was a long one. That wait saved my wife's life. Dr. Dwight Derisi is one of the best breast surgeons not only in New York, but in the country. Pros: Brilliant differential diagnostic skills, Warm personality, Excellent surgeon Cons: Long wait is a given....and he is certainly worth waiting for. more

Good doc; not-so-good wait 10/31/2003

Dr. Derisi was very nice and thorough when examining my mother after she received some abnormal results from a mammography. The only problem is that he keeps evening office hours b/c he is in surgery during the day, so he tends to run REALLY late. We had a 9 o'clock appt. and we didn't get in to see him until midnight. BUT he is a very good breast specialist, so he's worth the wait. He is very good at explaining things, and really does take his time with each patient. People come from afar just to be examined by him. Pros: Great Bedside Manner, Thorough, Nice Cons: Long wait more
