I've lived in NYC for almost a decade and recently moved to (& work in) Brooklyn, so I needed to find a new dentist. I was impressed with the credentials of Dr. Kevin Trotter, not to mention the location of his practice, so I thought I would give him a shot. What a phenomenal mistake! I am a 32 year old woman who has never had a single cavity or any sort of dental issue. I went to Dr. Trotter for a routine cleaning (which was fine) & was diagnosed with 2 minor cavities - when I returned to have them filled one month later, he also put a sealant on another tooth. I chose not to receive any local (or general) anesthesia during the procedure, as the cavities were rather minor. I did not have dental insurance for the second visit, and when I received my bill I was charged for THREE fillings. I spoke with Jasmine at the dental practice no less than FIVE times in an attempt to rectify this discrepancy, explaining that I clearly would have been aware if I had had a third cavity filled based on my dental history and on the circumstances of the visit as described above. I even told her that she should check with the dental assistant who was in the room during the procedure (which, by the way, she didn't bother to). Apparently, Dr. Trotter was adamant about the fact that I had three fillings. Adamant. What an unfortunate experience all around. Ask yourself, do you want to go to a dentist who is woefully careless in his notetaking, overcharges, is dismissive towards his patients, and wastes this much of your time??? I think not.
