Like Family 7/17/2008

I moved to New York from Boston almost 8 years ago and was referred to Dr. Trotter. To this day, I still travel all the way from the Upper West Side of Manhattan to Brooklyn Heights for everything from my bi-annual check-ups, to my wisdom teeth extraction to my Invisalign. I'm sure I could find a dentist in my neighborhood, but I really trust the Trotters. Their offices are modern and well-appointed, the hygenists and receptionists are friendly and informative, and the attention to detail is impressive. I'm currently going through the Invisalign process and the results are amazing. I visit fairly regularly for small adjustments, and they always accommodate my rather challenging schedule. I couldn't imagine going to another dentist. After the Invisalign, it's whitening for me! Besides, Brooklyn Heights is easy to get to and a really cute neighborhood. more

Professional and courteous service 6/20/2008

My friends and family all know how much I dislike visits to the dentist. I'm in my 30's now and I'm proud to say that I still do not have any cavaties. Trips to the dentist were becoming a waste of time until my tooth became very sensitve to anything cold. I was referred to Dr. Trotter by a friend and I was extremely happy with the service that he provided. Dr. Trotter was professional and easy to talk to. He gave me the play by play and made sure that I was comfortable throughout. I would certainly recommend him to anyone and I've decided to start making regular visits again to the dentist. Thank you Dr. Trotter. Pros: Professional and courteos service, easy to get to. more

Painless and Professional Dentist 6/9/2008

I normally do not take the time to write reviews, but Dr. Kevin Trotter and his staff deserve recognition for their professionalism and unusual compassion. Upon arriving at Dentistry at the Heights, the staff greats you with a warm smile and makes you feel comfortable in their pleasant waiting room. Unlike other dentists I have used in the past, Dr. Trotter and his staff make it clear that their business is about helping people and not just making a buck. This philosophy became clearly evident when his staff agreed to work with me regarding billing issues and through Dr. Trotter's caring bedside manner. The work performed on my teeth was painless and done right the first time. If you are looking for a new dentist, look no further because Dr. Trotter is best around. Pros: Compassionate, professional and painless dentist. more

Top-notch! 6/9/2008

Amongst all the ""get in - get out"" service you receive from doctors' offices these days, Dentistry at the Heights stands out as a professional, courteous and pleasant place to take the family for dentistry work. Dr. Trotter's work is examplary (I know because a dentist workshop funded by my company provided me with an opinion on his work), the staff is knowledeable, and the atmosphere is very friendly....All together making The Heights comfortable for the most uncomfortable situtations, like a root canal! Pros: Service, technical knowledge, flexibility more

Top Notch 6/9/2008

Having had significant dental problems over the years, I have never been a fan of going to the dentist. The pain, the fear, etc. Though it's still not top on my list of things to do on a Saturday afternoon, Dr. Trotter has definitely made my visits a lot more pleasant. He and his staff consistently go out of their way to make me feel comfortable -- before, during, and after my appointments. They put me at ease by always explaining the procedures beforehand and constantly asking how I am doing throughout the process. They have even called after big procedures to see how I am doing. But most importantly, Dr. Trotter's work has all been top notch. I won't go anywhere else. Pros: Comfortable waiting room, convenient location more

I wouldn't go anywhere else. 6/9/2008

I recently started seeing Dr. Trotter, and I have to say he is the best. I am the type that would do anything to avoid the dentist...but Dr. Trotter really makes me feel comfortable and relaxed. He is gentle and thorough. more

My Most Professional Dentist Experience 6/8/2008

A colleague from work recommended Dr. Trotter to me and they could not have been more right. I have two young kids who are of course scared of the dentist but Dr. Trotter and his wonderful staff made them both feel at ease (which of course made me feel at ease too!). The office is very relaxed and the waiting room is really comfortable as well. Dr. Trotter was really gentle with the kids and of course he had them laughing. My wife and I both saw him as well and he really is a great dentist. He takes great care in making sure his patients are comfortable and that all is ok during the visit. more

Do NOT go to this dentist 1/7/2008

I've lived in NYC for almost a decade and recently moved to (& work in) Brooklyn, so I needed to find a new dentist. I was impressed with the credentials of Dr. Kevin Trotter, not to mention the location of his practice, so I thought I would give him a shot. What a phenomenal mistake! I am a 32 year old woman who has never had a single cavity or any sort of dental issue. I went to Dr. Trotter for a routine cleaning (which was fine) & was diagnosed with 2 minor cavities - when I returned to have them filled one month later, he also put a sealant on another tooth. I chose not to receive any local (or general) anesthesia during the procedure, as the cavities were rather minor. I did not have dental insurance for the second visit, and when I received my bill I was charged for THREE fillings. I spoke with Jasmine at the dental practice no less than FIVE times in an attempt to rectify this discrepancy, explaining that I clearly would have been aware if I had had a third cavity filled based on my dental history and on the circumstances of the visit as described above. I even told her that she should check with the dental assistant who was in the room during the procedure (which, by the way, she didn't bother to). Apparently, Dr. Trotter was adamant about the fact that I had three fillings. Adamant. What an unfortunate experience all around. Ask yourself, do you want to go to a dentist who is woefully careless in his notetaking, overcharges, is dismissive towards his patients, and wastes this much of your time??? I think not. more
