Highly impressed, can't recommend enough! 10/24/2021

Nobody likes going to the dentist, myself included. I think I probably hate it more than most people. I wouldn't say that I have a phobia, but the thought of going to the dentist just skeeves me out. At lease until I found Dentistry by John Barras! WOW! The entire staff did everything that they could to help me feel comfortable. They explained everything that they would be doing in detail and were incredibly patient with me when I needed to take a second to compose myself. My TMJ treatment went flawlessly and I am SO SO happy with the results! Doctor Barras really is the best TMJ dentist in Houston! I recommend Dentistry by John Barras to everyone! more

Excellent dentist, highly recommend 6/28/2021

Dr. Barras is a miracle worker. I was having horrible symptoms and knew that I would need a TMJ dentist in Houston, so when a friend recommended Dr. Barras I finally booked the appointment. I'm so glad that I did! Everyone was so friendly and Dr. Barras really knew his stuff. I'm so happy with the results and highly recommend him to anyone who needs TMJ treatment! more

Dr. Barras saved my mouth AND my sanity!! 9/2/2019

I can't believe that it took me so long to address the pain I was experiencing, but when I finally sucked it up and went, I'm so glad that it was Dr. Barras that I saw. I explained that I had been putting off seeing a TMJ dentist for awhile and he was completely understanding. He explained everything that he was doing during the exam, and during the other appointments he explained every detail, step by step, of the treatment plan. Dr. Barras is the best TMJ dentist in Houston and I am living proof!! more

A doctor who actually cares! 11/17/2018

I was having serious jaw pain, like jaw pain so bad it gave me a migraine. After looking up my symptoms, I found that the most likely diagnosis was TMJ. I had no clue what that was and had to look up a TMJ specialist in Houston. I am so glad that I came across Dr Barras! The ladies in the office are all so sweet, but Dr Barras is what makes this office so special. He actually listened to all of my issues, fully explained to me what TMJ was and what to expect, and he answered all of my questions (and fears!) with sympathy. If you're looking for a TMJ dentist and live in the Houston area, you should meet Dr Barras! more

The best TMJ dentist in Houston 8/3/2017

I'd been having some jaw problems and it finally got to the point where I couldn't ignore it anymore. I did some research and decided to visit Dr. John Barras because of his experience. Dr. Barras diagnosed me with TMJ, and explained the entire process on how to remedy it. He was so patient and answered all of my questions, and now here I am, pain free! Dr. Barras truly is a TMJ specialist. I can't recommend him enough! more

The LEAST awful dentist experience ever!! 2/22/2017

I went to Dentistry by John Barras for some general adult dentistry stuff, the usual unpleasant cleaning, fillings, that sorta stuff, and I have to say that this was the least awful dental experience I've ever had in Houston. This guy is the best! You know how they usually stab your gums during cleanings and you end up feeling sore and awkward afterwards - not this time!! Dr. Barras was gentle and pretty awesome throughout the whole process. The filling went by quickly and I didn't feel a single thing. I am actually NOT dreading my next dentist appointment. more

Sabrina, the hygienist extraordinaire always pampers me and is very thorough regarding not only my teeth, but my general health and stress level as they affect your gum health. Dr. Barras is so gentle and knowledgeable, I highly recommend the team for any dental procedure. Margaret more
