Best Greek Brunch 5/9/2011

My husband and two daugthers went to your restaurant for Mother's day brunch and we thought the food was incredible. My frittatas were so great and my husband loved the greek omelet. We are really hoping they can open other Sunday's for brunch. It is the best in the area and the prices are great. We were dissapointed to hear they don't get enough business to open every Sunday. Perhaps they could get more business if they advertize more? Spread the word! We live in Friendswood and did not know about this place. Thanks! more

Great Neighborhood Greek Dining 3/27/2011

My husband and I have been on a quest to find the best dining in our new neighborhood in the Sagement area. We have found several places in this area that we would highly recommend. Deno's is most definitely one of them. This is the first time I have ever written a restaurant review, but I am prompted to do so in hopes that it will help this establish build a larger base of clientele, because they deserve it! The food: ample & fresh & delicious ; the ambiance: quaint & comfortable & clean (although cloth tableclothes over plastic would be preferable); the service: knowledgeable & friendly; the price: very reasonable. We've eaten there twice now, once for dinner and just today for Sunday brunch. Our dinner was delicious and the chicken souvlaki the best I've ever had. Today we went there for champagne brunch and were stunned to find ourselves the only patrons! How can this be? The quality of dining certainly hasn't gone down. My husband & I have done our part to spread the good news by word of mouth, but I write this review today to reach out to those we don't know. Please don't just drive on by: stop; dine; and I'm sure you'll add it to your list of favorites too.! more

Underrated, definitely not overrated !! 1/25/2010

Love Greek food? Well to best describe this place, Deno?s is the gold you would find at the end of a rainbow. Located conveniently in the Southbelt/Ellington area this little family owned diner began its roots in 1957 in Chicago, Illinois before making Houston its current home. What I love the most about this place is that is truly underrated and untouched by the mass media. Every trip feels like you are having that romantic Valentine?s dinner with your friends and family. Once you walk in you are instantly greeted with a smile almost as a friend and not just another hungry paying customer. Comfortable and seated, you now can browse through their wide selections of homemade authentic Greek dishes that are guaranteed to satisfy any old palate. Now when I say homemade I mean homemade, these recipes have been passed on from generations to luckily find its way into one of Houston?s kitchens and boy are we lucky. If it is your first time at Deno?s and you?re as much of a Greek foodie as I am then I recommend the Great Greek. Why? It?s extremely hard to decide a on a single plate when everything sounds so scrumptious so why not sample a little bit of Deno?s greatest all in 3 courses. Beware an addiction and side effects of craving will soon follow your visit to Deno?s Diner. Pros: Best Greek in Houston more

Best Greek Restaurant in TX! 11/8/2007

This has to be the best Greek food and Greek style of cooking around. The food is fresh and hot and the service is very good. We started with Yia Yia's Chicken Soup, which is a rich savory soup base containing chunks of chicken and finely chopped rice with a lot of Greek style seasonings and herbs...delicious! Then we had the bacon wrapped shrimp...these came out piping hot with very fresh, plump, tasty shrimp. The rib eye steak came out sizzling...the steak was very juicy and flavorful. My girlfriend had the grilled lamb chops...these were soft and tender and a lot of different herbs and seasonings. We went on a Saturday night and found the place quite appealing as there were no long wait, no large crowds, no restaurant noise, just quiet, comfortable environment. Highly recommend this restaurant! Pros: Food, service Cons: Location of restaurant more
