The Delaware County Institute of Science is in a small historic building steps away from the County Court House. It is the home to scientific artifacts that appeal to both adults and small children.
The exhibits are limited to local birds, animal, plants and geology. There is a small hands on exhibit that my kids love.
Monthly lectures by local experts are open to the public.
Admission is free, but call ahead for hours, they are open limited hours. Parking is by meter on weekdays. You probably won't spend more than 1 1/2 hours as the place is small. One bonus is that the place is rarely crowded and the staff is particularly good with children - so your kid will probably get their own history lesson.
