Del Mar racing is history at it's best! If you live in San Diego then attending the races is a must and opening day is tremendous. Opening day is filled with celebrities, high profile individuals and the rich and famous. No matter what the weather is like, opening day is a requirement to dress to the nines and for ladies to show off their favorite hats. Located off the 5 freeway traffic can be congested during most parts of the day. Traffic can be almost any time during the races. The races is a great time whether you have tons of money to spend or just a couple. You can have fun regardless if you have an expensive box seat or are just in general seating. Definitely a fun time! more

Good spot 8/21/2005

This is a great spot for all those fans of Horse Racing. This is the best race course I have come across in California. In this hot & sunny region watching the game & putting on the betting caps is real fun & enjoyable. I recommend this place for all those Horse lovers. more

Hot Spot for San Diegans 8/19/2005

A premier class horse racing club, this place draws people from all over the world. Seating options vary, either stadium or grass, and the whole place is nice and clean. My experience here is wonderful and I enjoyed it completely enjoyed it. The betting tables and booths are numerous, and located through the facility. You can either go up to a counter and talk with a live person, or do it electronically, and then go up and claim your winnings. All of the staff members are helpful and show enthusiasm, unlike some places. If it is in season, and you are traveling through San Diego and LA, i would definitely recommend this track to anyone who wants to experience something new, and horse racing isn't as common as it once was. more

The Del Mar Racetrack is a beautiful place to visit. It is a great place to relax, but at the same time it becomes lively when you’re watching the races, whether you’re betting or not. I think that you can picnic down in the field, where you can get a great view of the race since you are at eye-level with the horses. more

Del Mar Races - 43 days of fun! 8/7/2005

The Del Mar Racetrack is a beautiful and fun place to spend the day. It's too bad that there are only 43 race days in 2005. But don't worry, there is still time, the last day of races is September 7th. A lot of the race days have special giveaways and on Fridays there is a free concert when the races are over. If you have never gone to the horse races before, you should definitely go check it out. And it's a fun place to take the kids. I used to go with my parents when I was younger. Give them a few dollars to bet and they will have a blast. more

Del Mar Race Track 8/5/2005

The Del Mar Race Tracks has to be one of the nicest tracks in the country. The track is a grass track. The surrounding area is manicured to a T. The only major problem with the track is the fact that racing really only occurs from Memorial Day until Labor Day. It seems like such a waste. The race track is used for the Del Mar fair, which is a great fair to take the family. With plenty of parking and great grandstands, this is the place to be during the summer. more
