Decked Out & Fenced In

John Jones of decked out and fenced in asked for a 50% percent deposit (2600.00) for deck repair. Pushed back deadline several times leaving deck unsafe and husband having to repair. Monies for lumber purchased and returned by John still owed to consumer, which he acknowledged to me today by phone yet reports he doesn't have the money to return. Please note John cashed 2600.00 deposit in under an hour yet wants unlimited patience to return money owed to consumer. Job never finished. John gives excessive amounts of excuses and takes zero responsibility for his poor business practices yet wants empathy that he doesn't have the money to return. Still awaiting money without any time-frame or estimate to return. John also angry about reviews yet not doing anything to resolve the financial matter. more

I gave Jon Jones at $2600.00 deposit to repair may deck on June 7th, 2021. He promised he was not going to run off with my money. He cashed the check at my bank that day and a month later work has not be done and I cannot get him to return my deposit. He now is not answering or returning phone calls. I have had to file a report with the local police for Theft by Deception and will have to sue him to return my deposit. Read the reviews, I am not the first he has done this too. USE HIM AT YOUR OWN RISK! more

This guy took down payment waited for 1 month to start job, His worker left several things unfinished areas of good workmanship but also areas of poor workmanship, with unfinished work. Has not returned to complete job or clean up his mess that was left, Do not trust this mans word. more

So everyone seems to have same problem with this company. I just pray his license gets removed (that is if he even has one he is such a liar). He gladly took my money and ran. Oh and make sure you dont live out of town bc not only did he only complete less than 5 percent of my work i paid him for. He had a homeless worker in my house sleeping and showering in my house for a week! Found out thru my realtor who said a sleeping pad was in floor along with cigs everywhere in my master bedroom (never smoked in my own house) and towels in my bathroom floor, clearly showering and sleeping there! As soon as she called him out, they packed up same day and ran. Never seen them since. I also was stupid to trust him bc he seems so nice in beginning. His less than 5 percent of work now cost me a weeks worth of run up electric bill and lost 2500 i paid. I dare his wife to come on here and say its not true. I could sue but honestly dont have time and from the looks of it, he wouldnt pay anyways. Wasted 2500 plus electric bill of 80 in one week! I dont even use that much i 3 weeks! more

Hired this company to replace deck spindles and repair a fence. They gave a fair estimate one day, and completed the job the next day. No complaints. Would hire again! more

I was bamboozled by the responsiveness in the beginning. I received a prompt estimate at a fair price so decided to sign a contract for wooden fencing and gates. I should have done a quick internet search because there are numerous stories out there just like mine. How can so many unrelated scenarios lament the same thing? Because that's how he operates! Once he got enough of my money to determine it was't worth coming back the silence started and he only answered the phone if I called from an unknown number. When I did get him on the phone it was a bunch of BS excuses, lies and unkept promises. He left a pile of construction debris in my driveway and much of it isn't even from my job. I have someone else's gutters and bamboo rods to dispose of. I am deeply dissapointed and pissed at the same time. I now have to hire another fence contractor to finish the job and correct the shoddy work. This project will most likely cost me double in the end. Save yourself the agony and don't waste your money. more

PLEASE STAY AWAY this company will get your money and not finish the job. I paid this company to repair and replace some privacy fencing and they reschedule 4 times because his guys didn't feel like working before finally showing up. John Jones promised that he would return the next day to remove the old wood that was piled up in my yard and now it has been 2 weeks and the pile is still there now they are refusing to answer the phone or return calls.....horrible company. more

My attempts to have them come back and fix things not to mention finish the job has gone ignored. Other postings reflect there is a history of this and I wish I would have read the reviews before hiring them. Buyers beware! more

I can't vouch for their deck or fence building (since they never finished my deck). I would not recommend them for any job mainly because of their attitude and constant lies. They promised again and again that they would come out and finish my pool. A whole month passes and they finally came back out to finish only to end up tearing the liner because they left a ton of wrinkles in the middle. After I bought a new liner, they said they would install it. By 10am on the day they were supposed to come out they had not showed. I called and they told me "sorry, but my guys didn't want to work today". I had gotten this excuse before, so I said enough was enough. I told them to replace the warped wood (got that way sitting in my yard for a month) and we would be done with it. Wasted my money and my summer on this company. After we took down the liner to put the new one in ourselves, we discovered the ground was not level and all the protective pieces (foam wall, foam cove, and armor liner) were skewed or falling. They just seem to be negligent with their work. more
