While traveling through St. George, Utah, my daughter and I stopped to do some shopping. My daughter found several pairs of pants to try on. She asked permission to try on the pants and was shown where the dressing room were located. When she entered the dressing room there were many items already in the room. While she was trying on the pants, I was browsing through the store. All of a sudden, I heard someone in a very loud voice saying, "madam, you can only have three items in there, you need to remove some of your items now." As I stated, she was granted permission to enter the room (holding her selections) and there were many clothing items already in the dressing room. I walked over to see what the problem was, the same sales person asked me if she was going to purchase any of the items. I told her that I did not know as she was trying on pants and was not sure if she had the chance to make her decision yet. While in line to purchase a pair of pants and two tops, I observed the same sale clerk talking to the Manger and another sales clerk about my daughter. I watched her until she noticed me watching her and she then stepped away. When the three items rang up, I asked about the price on the pants as the price which was written in pencil was $14.49 and we were charged $19.99. Without even looking at the items, the manger said, "oh they came in and did an audit and erased the prices." As I stated the price was clearly marked $14.49. The Manager was also very rude and abrupt. Embarrassed by the treatment received in the store we went to the car, I call from my cell phone and asked for the customer service number, I was told that there wasn't one and the manager then said, "if it is that big of deal, I will refund your money." I have about 40 years of customer service and merchandising experience and my daughter is a merchandising Manager and has bee for over 5 years. I am very disappointed in the service which we received. It take a lot of hard work to be successful and only a few minutes to take that success away. My daughter and I will never shop at Deb Store again and of course we will not recommend Deb Stores to anyone. more
