THE PITS ! 9/10/2010

Not to the point where I would refuse to pay for it, but pretty close. They claim to use jumbo lump crabmeat. It was more like pureed crabmeat. I wasn't even expecting jumbo lump, but the crabcakes were poor. The menu reads that there is a choice of broiled or fried crabcakes although the waiter never asked. Salads were the smallest I've ever seen, with dressing drenched on them, even though 2 of us had asked for it on the side. $28 for a dinner and the mashed potato that comes with it is powdered instant whipped!!\r One of us asked for water which the waiter brought. He left the table without filling the other 3 empty glasses. Baked potatoes came without butter and we weren't asked if we wanted any. There is a charge for drink refills. One of the 4 entrees was split but a second plate never arrived. more

THE WORST!!! 8/27/2009

The service was overwhelmed. Hostesses were oblivious to the servers poor quality of service. All of that could have been forgiven if the food was worth the money. It was NOT! It was possible the worst food I have ever eaten. I should have had them take it back and gone somewhere else. It truly was revolting. Everything was hard as a rock, completely overcooked and yet still cold. There was a stuffed clam which was gritty and salty and sour and just nasty, but at least it wasn't overcooked to hard plasticy tasting grossness! Pros: nice view, free salad Cons: everything else more

Customer Service on the Beach club area of the Resturant 7/5/2006

My family and friends had dinner and drinks at the beach club last Saturday night. (7/2/06)\r We often visit the Deauville when we are at the beach, which is at least twice a month durring the summer season. We spent approximately $300.00 that evening. The food was good, however, the service was horrible. We were waited on by 14 year old arogaunt and very rude girls. I couldn't beleive their attitudes towards the customers. We were overlooked after ordering a fire pit and when we spoke to the waitress about it, she became very defensive and said that we were not a part of her station. Then she proceeded to mouth off at me. When we asked to speak to a manager, they simply walked away and never sent the manager over. Never in my life have I ever had such horrible service. We love comming to your establishment and will attend again, however I highly suggest you take the time to higher proper help. Pros: Sunset Cons: The waitresses more

a great place for dinner 6/28/2002

the Deauville Inn is a great restaurant to visit when you are down the Jersey Shore. located in Strathmere it's smack dab between the popular towns of Sea Isle and Ocean City. they have a nice seafood menu with some other dishes such as chicken and steak. best bet is to stick with the seafood or the Surf and Turf. it's open all year round. next to the main dining room is a mini-sports bar with some TVs and a pool table. also during the summer there is a nice deck right on the bay where you can eat or just have drinks. overall the Deauville Inn is a great place Pros: fresh seafood, outdoor deck, open year round more
