DeFuria Catering

We hired Franco to cater our non-profit foundation, Betty's Foundation, benefit concert dinner. The food was delicious and every guest was very happy with the food. Franco prepared a three-course menu with five different entree choices - all diverse and tasty. He rented the napkins, utensils, plates, and glasses for us and made our lives much easier! We were very happy with his services and his attention to every detail. more

Chef Franco and his staff made my daughter's graduation party a great success. I was very happy with everything from food, professionlism, service and pricing. Chef was very willing to work with my budget and even threw in some extras that I wasn't expecting. He arranged all rentals and everything that ws needed for the party, desserts included. Staff was very helpful and went above and beyond their job. Thank you once again and will defenitely use his services in the future. more

This was a wonderful experience for us. We have always wanted to have a sit down full service wine tasting dinner at our home with several of our friends. Defuria Catering exceeded our expectations from beginning to end.\r \r The food was amazing! We had 5 courses and it was all excellent. The filet was so tendar, to die for and the mini desserts were awesome. Chef Franco was so organized and professional from beginning to end. the other negative reviews are totallt accurate. you may think you are saving money but you couldnt pay me to use franco's services again. the little bit of money that you save with his company is not worth all of the stress and headaches that you will experience. he does promise the world and he does say, ""dont worry, everything will be beautiful."" however, at my event there was nothing for my guests to drink. everything was disorganized and not ""beautiful"" at all. he forgot to bring something to put his food on. all the supplies were ugly...like a bag of von's napkins open on the table for the guests to take, liters of soda in a big bucket, a carton of half and half floating around in the melted ice so the guests had to dig and try to find cream for their coffee. everything that he did looked tacky...while i had spent thousands trying to make this party as beautiful and elegant as i could. he agreed that his service was embarassing and he agreed to refund some of my money but now i have to file a small claims lawsuit because he wont pay. i would not trust the good reviews because i cannot imagine that he could ever be organized or professional enough to handle catering any event. more

Love Love Loved the food at my wedding. Franco went above and betond to make our small wedding still feel elegant and classy. He did extra things to help us out that were not part of our agreement and we didn't worry about anything! Perfection!!! more

I had high hopes for Chef Franco and DeFuria Catering. I read the reviews, did my homework, compared pricing to other caterers and no one came close to his low figures. My husband and I thought we had come upon good fortune but sadly, you get what you pay for. It's not the quality of food, it's not the staff, it's not Chef Franco's personality but the QUANTITY of food that is lacking. We had heavy appetizers served at our 100 person wedding reception at 2:30 p.m. and 60-90 minutes after the first morsel of food was served, the food was gone. My husband and I were looking forward to feasting on the food we had sampled on our meeting. He said he was going to make thousands of pieces of each item and we were going to have so much food left over. The only thing my husband and I ate on our wedding day was cold pasta that was meant for the children, polenta and some fruit salad. I was crushed, starving and embarrassed. Guests left our wedding reception to get food, that's how inadequate the food was despite his promise, despite our contract, despite our best efforts. What good is a caterer if he doesn't bring enough food? Do yourself a favor and pay more money to hire a caterer that delivers on all fronts, quantity of food included. Defuria Catering catered our wedding reception of 150 people in Burbank, a few weeks ago, and it was truly a wonderful event. The reception was planned without a lot of notice, so I was concerned that it wouldn't be very organized, but Chef Franco and his staff soon put my mind at ease! They met with us at the venue and covered every base. Chef Franco worked with us to create and amazing Italian menu that was absolutely delicious. We didn't have to worry about a thing! They provided everything! My guests were very impressed with the presentation and quality of the food ,and also with the service! I have never had such a pleasurable experience with a catering company. Chef Franco takes pride in his work, and was so helpful with all the details...He really adds a personal touch to everything, which made us feel so comfortable. He told us on our first meeting that it was his job to create a fabulous dinner and to make sure the bride and groom didn't have to worry about anything except having a wonderful time at the reception, and he certainly made that happen! Cher Franco and his staff showed up on time, and with such positive energy...the appetizers and dinner were not only delicious, but also beautiful! In additon to the dinner itself, they handled everything from passing around the trays of appetizers, pouring champagne and serving the wedding cake! I would highly reccomend DeFuria Catering to anyone looking for excelent food, very reasonable prices and personal service. I must agree with Cynthia T, that I can't imagine anyone not being thrilled with DeFuria catering! They definitely delivered beyond our expectations! Thank you Chef Franco! Chef Franco was so helpful, positive and prepared a delicious lunch of pasta, fish, chicken, Caesar, eggplant, and more. The group commented about the delicious homemade raviolis and were so much happier than going to a restaurant. He arrived on time and took personal interest in making sure all was done right. I and many others have had exceptional service from DeFuria Catering! I was referred to him by a friend who said that his food was incredible! Chef Franco truly delivers quality food and great hospitality, in a humble and loving way. He went over and beyond expectations for me and my fiance for our wedding of over 180 people; there was no want or dream that wasn't fulfilled! He even made food separately and delivered it to the church so that the wedding party would have eaten something before rushing over to the reception! He gives you an invoice of what he can prepare and how much it will cost, you choose what you would like and he finalizes the invoice. It is very clear and organized. I forgot several details and had to keep going back to that invoice to remember. He also called several times to check up with me and make sure that we were still on the same page! (I really appreciated this because we girls tend to change our minds from time to time!) He also helped my mom out with my sister's wedding reception, just 1 month before. The food is always delicious and the servers are so sweet! I am disheartened by the comments of the previous lady who said ""Save Yourself"". What was said is not in alignment with Franco's personality at all! It seems only logical, that with many people on other sites reviewing DeFuria catering as a wonderful company to do business with and Defuria catering receiving an A from the business bureau, that the one lady that said negative things probably caused allot of the confusion and frustration herself. It is sad that she had to air her negativity in such a malicious way. I apologize to anyone who might be hesitant now because of her remarks, believe me YOU CAN NOT GO WRONG CHOOSING DEFURIA CATERING, my husband and I have been truly blessed to have met Chef Franco and his employees! Franco catered my one year anniversary party for De Corazon Pilates. We had about 90 people. He served delicious assorted hors de ovres. He provided the cocktail tables, table clothes. paper goods and the servers. He stayed and made sure everything was up to his high standards. My guests we quite impressed with the quality of the food he served. I have lost count of the people I have given his business card to. My event was a fabulous success and I am definitely going to use him again. Pros: great food, dependable, brings tasting to you more

BEWARE! I hired Franco to cater my wedding and out of 13 vendors he was the only one I had problems with. He is unorganized, over promised and didn?t deliver. His food is good and the price is what made me go with him in the first place but it was indeed too good to be true. I had to put our agreement in writing because he kept forgetting major details like the fact we were getting 3 entrees. He included a bar tender, which 3 months later and 3 bartenders later we still didn?t have anyone lined up. A deposit he was supposed to put down for our cake (as it was ?included?) never happened, and I had to call him 3 times an hour and a half after our ?final walk through? meeting time since he NO SHOWED before getting a hold of him. You?ll find with time that his answer to everything is- ?yes, no problem, it?s gonna be beautiful?- but the next time you talk to him all those details were forgotten. He has a story and excuse for everything. I eventually fired him and went with a different caterer who was great. I?m now taking him to small claims court because money he promised to return of course has not arrived even 2 months later. Franco also invented charges like a $150 tasting fee, $40 gas fee etc after the fact since he felt he was entitled to more money for his hard work. SAVE YOURSELF, go with someone else.
