took my blue/gold macaw in for nail and beak trimming. they brought her back to me bloody and her wing was dragging the floor. they tried to convince me she came in that way. after several minutes arguing they finally did x-rays and it showed her wing was broke. they did emergency surgery, put in a rod and pins, kept her for several days, told me she was malnourished and needed their "special" diet, and charged me over $1000.00 for that visit. the bird is 20 yrs old, weighed the same after their diet as she did before, and was playing the day i took her in. they also put a cast on her wing to keep her from plucking it, i asked if it would cause long term affects when removed, they reassured me it wouldn't, but to this day it still hangs down her side. she can never fly again, and they accepted no responsibility for it. we had to go back several more weeks to have cast removed, wing looked at, and recast, another couple hundred each time. oh and took her to another vet after cast was fi
