Days Inn Neptune Jacksonville Beach Mayport Mayo Clinic NE

I found Days Inn Neptune Beach to be everything advertised. It was neat, clean, comfortable and everything worked. I stayed here a few years ago and had no problem coming back. I did find the staff to be more friendly and helpful this visit which included days of two different weeks. The front desk people were wonderful. My visit was for going to the Mayo Clinic. It's location was great and they offered shuttle to and from Mayo. Breakfast was good and the lady (I forgot her name) kept everything full and clean. I will be going back. more

Starting off, i have been going to this hotel for years, and have never been impressed, but now i am just plain disenchanted. After driving about 7 hours and arriving to check in around 1 AM, we waited about 20 minutes to be helped. We then paid for a room(in cash) and signed a disclaimer saying that we would notify the front desk if anything seemed unsatisfactory. Needless to say, things were VERY unsatisfactory. The halls smelled like urine and were scattered with what appeared to be animal feces. The room was littered with used c*ndoms and beer bottles. We went to the front desk less than ten minutes after viewing the conditions, where he proceeded to tell us that he could not refund us ANYTHING since we paid cash. There were no signs stating this. He told us to come back in the morning so that the manager could issue us a refund. We came in the AM at 9 when we were asked to come, and the manager was not in the office yet. We came back an hour later, and he was still not there, so we asked the attendent to call him to see whern he would be in. We overheard another attendent say he was drinking at a bar across the street. He called the manager who was in turn transferred to us. The manager proceeded to curse at us and told us he did not want to ""deal with our bullsh*t"" and to call corporate. He then hung up on us and called the office back, telling the attendant to relay the message to us, that ""if we did not leave immediately, we would be escorted off the premises"". This was mortifying and extremely rude ,so we called the corporate office after leaving the hotel, and are still awaiting a resolution and refund. ABSOLUTE WORST HOTEL I HAVE EVER BEEN TO.
