There is a sign inside Davey's that says the best in 2006. What in the world happened in 5 years since. The only thing I can think is that folks that eat here regular have no taste what so ever. We ordered a Chicago Dog, Bacon Cheese Dog, two dished of Chile, fries and a Dr. Pepper and diet coke. The Chicago Dog was cold. Not sure what made this a Chicago dog there was stuff placed on top of it. Two pickles four pepper bits, and three slices of jalapeno . The Bacon Cheese dog was cold with burned or overdone bacon that tasted burned. Whatever cheese was used cheese wiz would have made an improvement. The Chile was cold. Must have come right out of a can. Who needs to warm it. I asked for onions on one, it came with a 1"" layer of onions. Good thing I didn't ask for extra onion. The cheese on the Chile looked like the cheese on the dog but not melted. Hah, not yet. I complained that it was also cold so they zapped in the microwave a bit. Now it was just like the dog stuff where cheese wiz would also have made an improvement. So the Dr Pepper looked red, as it was leaking out of the cup. Sure enough it was root beer. I brought it up to the counter and said this is not Dr. Pepper but root beer. The answer I got back was, we don't serve root beer, we serve birch beer. But all is not lost. The French fries where plentiful and as long as they were hot were tasty. Should you venture to Davey's, don't order from the counter just scrape the dining room floor and tables there is enough left over food that might just make a meal. Who knows perfection may come with age. You might just have to experience Davey's just to see for yourself :)
