Wonderful place for kids!! 10/22/2005

This is my kids favorite place to go. There are just so many different things to do here, it's a great place to spend a day. My kids love the play houses. It's a great set up, store, vet clinic, house, chicken coop, etc. Lots to play with and do. Great playgrounds too, lots of fun equipment, tractors to play on and even go-carts. There is also a nice smaller toddler only playground which is great for the really little ones. There are two main attractions. The first is the animals. Lots of endangered farm animals to see, feed and pet. Large area to walk around and learn about the animals in and chickens and goats wander around too. Nice hay ride out to the big cows and other animals. The staff is knowledgeable and super-friendly. They really do their best to make sure you and your kids are having a great time. At certain times during the day, you can feed calves and see goats milked too. The other main attraction is the water park which is simply phenomemal. My kids just love it. It's so cute! It's colorful, tons of different water sprayers coming out of the ground, from huge flowers and trucks. So much to play on and explore. Wonderfully clean dressing rooms w/ showers, large restrooms, a mother's nursing room and a small snack shack are right by the water play area. There is also a large gift shop, large restaurant and picnic areas for all and some reserved for private parties. It's kind of pricey but you can find coupons for them. Food is priced comparitively to other attractions and its a super kid friendly menu. We do a yearly pass which at first seems like a lot of money. But you only have to go a few times to make it worthwhile and I'd highly suggest it if you live close enough. more

Fun entertainment for kids 8/25/2005

Awesome petting zoo farm outside of Boston. A classic that is very popular with a lot of schools and camps. Can be a bit crowded, but it is an excellent family outing. Tons of animals the kids can play with. Feeding time often is announced, and kids are allowed to help with the chores. Bring a picnic lunch, or plan to go out because the services at the farm are not abundant. Fun area just to walk around and watch the kids interact with all the animals! more

Great family fun 8/21/2005

We recently took our young child to Davis Farmland, and he had a great time. There are many things for the kids to do while there. They can look at all the animals, ride a pony, or play in Imagine Acres. They also offer a small water park, geared towards smaller children. Our son loved it, and it was the perfect size for him (he is 2). They also offer a mega maze, which is a walk through maze made of bushes (this event had not yet opened when we were there). We are looking forward to going this fall for apple picking as well. We have friends who have taken their small children and had a great time, too. The prices were reasonable (offering numerous ways to pay), and the farm is easy to get to. They have plenty of restroom facilities, They offer day camps, as well as birthday parties. They also have a great website that has downloadable activities for children. They are a weather permitting facility, so be sure to call ahead to ensure they are open in questionable weather. We will definitely go back to Davis Farmland for great family fun. more

Davis' Farmland 8/21/2005

Wow, this place is incredible. I'd heard about it but had no idea how big it is. They have all sorts of farm animals including many rare animals. Some of the babies get free reign and will come quite close to visit with you. Our little ones, very shy around most animals, couldn't resist when the tiny goats came up to them for a petting and some food. They have frequent hay rides and tours. When it gets too hot, head on over to the Play and Spray water area. The kids love it, there are large fountains and attractions as well as more tame ones for some kids who are on the cautious side. There is a place to dine in, outdoor seating, a snack bar. Bring a picnic or eat there. When the fall hits, it is apple picking time. There are huge, juicy apples, the kind you can only get picking your own. There really is something for everyone at Davis. more

A Day at the Farm 7/31/2005

Davis Farmland is a lot more than a visit to see farm animals. There are imaginary play areas, places you can touch and feed the farm animals, and two spray parks. You could spend an entire day there and still feel like there was more to do. Highly recommended. more
