I took my Subaru to Jim Davidson's when it developed a stalling issue that the local mechanics were having a hard time diagnosing. Despite telling them it was a 90 minute drive they still wanted the car dropped off for an estimate. After being assured of a free estimate, and their self proclamed expertise over the phone and on their website, I dropped off my car. I thought it was strange that they offered to buy the car from me at that time. 2 Days later I got a call asking me if I was ""ready to start throwing money at it"". They didn't know what the problem was but wanted to start randomly changing parts. They never did give me an estimate, and they charged me $75 for the ""time"". I spoke with the owner via cell phone from his $300k vacay home in florida (he had to tell me that as evidence of what a good mechanic he is I suppose) He also couldn't seem to remember that my name is not ""babe"". I gave up reasoning with these barbarions when upon showing them their own website and it's free estimate claim I was informed that it's their shop and they can do anything they want.
