Friendliest hair salon in Philadelphia with fabulous cuts, color and stylings! 6/27/2006

I've been a customer at Dave's Contemporary Hair Salon for 16 years, have enjoyed every minute of it and always get compliments on my hair. This place is so friendly and not a bit intimidating, as so many hair salons are! My appointment is always on time and the hair stylists devote their full attention to the customers. You will love Dave's! more

Great Haircuts, Superb Service 6/20/2006

I've been going to Dave's for 6 or 7 years now and it is by far the best barbershop in the City. Friendly, excellent haircuts, done just as requested, and interesting discussions everytime. Merle and Analisa do equally great work. Appointments are easily made by phone and you can usually get in the same day. \r \r PS - Ed Bacon (Renowned Philadelphia City Planner and father of Kevin) used to get his hair cut here. Ask them to tell you the story. more

great people and a great haircut 6/19/2006

having googl'd for haircuts in old city, i came up with two results, american mortal and dave's. \r i'm glad i went to dave's since it's probably the quietest, friendliest and most personal barber shop/salon i've ever been to. And the best part was that i barely needed an appointment. a phone call along the lines of ""sure, you can come in any time"" and a 5 minute walk was all that i needed. \r Pros: friendly, no appointment really necessary Cons: none that i can think of more
