Italian in Evanston 4/16/2006

Dave's Kitchen is beloved by many in Evanston. Besides its homey atmosphere its hearty but well executed Italian food is the main reason people keep on returning to Dave's. The veal marsala and baked lasagna are the stars of the menu. They also have a reasonable wine list with bottle costing on average fifteen dollars. Dinner for one without a drink averages around fifteen dollars. more

Affordable Italian 11/15/2005

Dave's Italian Kitchen is located near North Western University. So you would think that it would be packed with college kids, but most nights it's packed with families. The food is good and you get large portions, which is fantastic for anyone who is watching their budget. I think that, and the inexpensive prices keeps people coming back for more more

As far as affordable and fast dining goes, Dave's Italian Kitchen can take you a long way. Their menu selection is extensive, ranging from pasta to sandwiches to salads, and they can satisfy almost any kind of taste bud. Their portions are sizeable for the cost, and the service leaves little to be desired. An enjoyable meal. more

Good food, fast 8/14/2005

This place has excellent Italian food. It's prices are pretty decent for Evanston and the food comes quickly. The portions are large, so there will always be leftovers. It's a great place to bring children, too. I would highly recommend it. But somethings to look out for: It's always busy. It can get very loud. Ask for salad dressing on the side- they douse their salads. more

Great Italian Cuisine 8/8/2005

Dave’s Italian Kitchen is simply one of the best Italian restaurants I have ever been to. The menu is extremely wide, and almost every dish is to die for. The service is great, and the place is always hopping. It’s not unusual to have a wait of at least half an hour on a given night of the week. The only thing bad to say about this place is that many people complain their dishes are drenched in tomato sauce. I actually like that as you can sop it up with the wonderful bread they give you, but it’s a personal preference. more
