Best Indian Food in New York 9/18/2011

I had a meeting with my Indian clients in this restaurant and they suggested me try few things here. I tried Tandoori Chicken and I was completely addicted to it now. Very nice taste with little bit of spiciness and the aroma is amazing. I would recommend you all to try it once. more

Indian Food in NYC 9/15/2011

I have come across Darbar Grill with unique flavors with excellent ambiance. Tried various veg and no veg varieties and very found some very spicy and yet mouth watering. Will definitely go there again. Karo. more

A Must Try for Indian Food Lovers 6/27/2011

I love both Darbar locations and can't say enough about their amazing food. I have tried almost every dish on the menu since the lunch buffet features so many dishes. All of the vegetarian dishes are so tasty and not too heavy with sauce. Most Indian restaurants have lunch buffets but Darbar is by far the best. The 55th Street location is great for a special dinner date, conveient location. The 46th street location is more casual but equally as good. more

Best Indian Lunch in NYC 5/26/2011

If you want to try ALL the great Indian specialties, go to Darbar during lunch Mon to Friday. GREAT food and under $15. The good thing about the buffet is you get to try so many dishes. If you go for dinner, you are limited to one entree generally. The staff is very nice and quick. more

Best Indian food in New York! 11/18/2010

This restaurant has one of the best Indian food in the city. The food is not too spicy, but well seasoned. The taste is subtle and the food can be enjoyed by all. They catered at an event I organized and their service was great, very professional and accomodating. And, everybody at the event raved about the food! Their restaurant is really great, nice decor, reasonable prices, and delicious Indian food! Definitely try the chicken tikka masala and the reshmi kebab. more

So, I've gone to Darbar twice and the food and service is GREAT. The atmostphere is beautiful, the waiting staff is warm and attentive, so much to compliment...go and see for yourself!!! Pros: Everything Cons: Nothing more

A Great Find 7/7/2009

Read the recommendations on Citysearch while in town on business in the neighborhood. Boy, were we glad we checked it out! Terrific food in a nice setting and just-right service. The food is FRESH and you can taste it. You may wait a few minutes longer than you would somewhere else, but there is no comparison...this place has it down. I am trying to get the word out so people check it out...the food and atmosphere is PERFECT-O. They have a great, quiet and elegant bar as well - a nice place for a date, drinks after work, meeting, or night with friends...spread the word. Darbar Grill has the best Indian food that I've eaten in all of New York City. The buffet lunch is the best deal in town With 6 Salads & Appetizer,3 Desserts. The decor and service are impeccable. I am from California and a big fan of Indian food. I asked a local to recommend a good Indian restaurant. They took me to this new place. We were a group of 14 people. From the time we entered to the time we left they were extravagant!! It was not so busy but I guess, because they are new, they weren't. I would definitely visit this place whenever I am in New York City. Tandoori Lamb Chops and their Reshmi Kebab (besides other stuff) was mouth watering!! I wish they would deliver to California. : D Pros: Beautiful Ambience and very friendly people Cons: Not in California (yet) more

Simply the Best. 1/10/2009

Have been a loyal patron of Darbar but wanted to give a shot at their new venture Darbar Grill @ 55 st. Oh boy,Oh boy,what a pleasant surprise it turned out to be. We were 4 of us & 2 of us ordered their Tasting menu. My Husband ordered the vegetarian and I ordered the meat one. Trust me, for $35, the food and the presentation was fantastic! The food kept on coming and at one point, we wanted to give up, but since it was so good, we kept on eating like pigs! My parents had ordered the Scallops, Malai Kofta, and Dal Makhni, and they felt they were eating in India (they are visiting us from India)! The only problem is, I don't know which one to go to... Great Job Guys! Keep it up!! Pros: Great food, great ambience, and great service Cons: There are none!!! more

One of the Best Indian spots in NYC! A must try! 12/28/2008

I use to go to Darbar on 46th Street for lunch when my office was close and was SOO happy to see that Darbar Grill opened on 55th street. The new location has a very nice interior and the lunch buffet was the bomb. I love Indian food, especially for lunch and this is by far one of the best lunch buffets in the city. Very reasonably priced too. Pros: New, reasonable, Tasty Cons: None! more
