Dan's Auto Repair is fair priced, and they get the job done when they say they will get the job done. They had all the parts and the know-how they needed to repair my car. I first heard about Dan's Auto Repair from other Novi locals, and I am very satisfied with their recommendations. I recommend them as well. more

Dan's Auto Repair is always quick to analyze and give what I think are good estimates. They stand behind their work. I have been using them for over a decade. The quality of work is usually very high. If they miss something they will fix it, though it is not often that that happens. Cars are cars, and we drive some pretty senior citizen ones. They are also very good at recommending solutions for the vehicles and other vendors, like paint shops or snow removal. They know what is going on in the business. They also tell me to use their name, so that I don't go in as a total stranger. For instance, our snow removal guy totaled his truck, so I called Dan's Auto Repair and got a new recommendation. That kind of networking is important. They are a helpful maintenance-networking member of the community. Steve Myers more

You can't find a better place to go. 1/10/2011

Dan's Auto Repair is very reliable. They are very considerate and very thorough. My husband and I feel that if we ask a question we can trust their answer. They will tell the truth about a problem we have or don't have, and if we ask a question we can trust their answer. They are very professional. We have been using them for 25 years, and our whole family has used them. Our daughter lives in the area, and she also does all of her repair work at Dan's. The quality of work is excellent, and they stand behind their work. If there is a problem, and something doesn't work out quite right, they stand behind their work with no problem at all. They will get it corrected. more

NOT VERY GOOD 12/28/2010

In this day and age it is very hard to find good customer service - and Dan's Auto is living proof of that. They were rude to me from the moment I walked in the door. The work they did on my car was sloppy and I actually had to take it somewhere else after Dan got done with it. Do yourself a favor - avoid this place. more

WARNING: 9/10/2010

DISASTER! DO NOT GO TO DAN'S AUTO REPAIR! They misdiagnosed the problem with my car which resulted in me being stranded. I originally told them I probably need a new alternator. After hundreds of dollars of "diagnosis" they said it was just a short circuit and sent me on my way. When I was stranded on Friday evening I called Dan's Auto but nobody picked up. I had to get it towed to another Auto Repair place which fixed my problem - I needed a new alternator. When I came in to discuss what happened with Dan he refused to reimburse me for anything I paid him and screamed at me until I left his shop. From the very beginning the entire staff was rude to me and acted like they did not need or want my business. I do not recommend Dan's Auto Repair! more

A Diamond In The Rough 3/19/2010

Found via Google>City Search and the reviews look authentic. In an area where there's more auto repair shops than you can shake a stick at, this place is a real breath of fresh air. The mechanic I worked with not only identified my problem but talked about other potential problems I may have, and how to save ME money!? Like the other reviews, the final cost was extremely reasonable, and the service was sensational. Pros: Honest, Knowledgable, Friendly, Good Price Cons: Hard to find (a Pro for those in the know) No frills more

Finally and honest mechanic 12/18/2008

Im from out of town visiting my brother for the hollidays and the 4 wheel drive went out on my Ranger. It only has 13,000 miles on it but Ford won't cover it since its 38 months old. They wanted $770 to repair it. Dan's got it done in one day for $500. They even use a real OEM ford part, showed me the reciept and returned the old one back to me. Too bad I can't find a mechanic like this back home. BTW I normally don't write reviews unless Im really ticked off or really impressed. I highly recommend Dan's Auto. more

Honest service, Easy to work with 4/23/2007

I was from out of town and had my car break down in Novi, MI. I had my car towed to a nearby auto repair, Dan's Auto Repair. The next morning I called when they opened and informed them I had a car sitting outside that wouldn't run. By 2:00 that afternoon, they had diagnosed the problem, and by 3:00 it was fixed. The total bill was about $150. Considering they knew I wasn't from the area, it would have been easy to attempt to take advantage of the situation, but they were extremely honest. They just replaced the part, and locked the keys in the car for me to pick up later. Their labor charge was cheaper than where I am from (~$80/hr), so overall I was extremely impressed with their service and honesty. Highly recommended. Pros: Quick, honest repair Cons: None that I know of. more

Women - they explain it to you without demeaning you. Need i say more? they are fair and honest and always show you the parts they replace. Only negative is they are usually backed up. more
