I've been a patient of Dr. Dannehl's for a few years, but I've finally had enough. Although Dr. Dannehl is generally likable, he's incompetent. Here are two examples.\r

I first saw Dr. Dannehl concerning some symptoms I'd been having in my esophagus. He correctly diagnosed my problem as acid reflux. However, he never asked me about my diet. He just basically had me get a needless barium X-ray, and then eventually prescribed me some expensive pills (Prilosec), which I'd be expected to take for the rest of my life. After doing some research, I discovered that pills such as Prilosec are a band-aid, not a cure. They do nothing to solve the real problem and in the long run can cause a lot of harm. Anyway, I stopped taking the pills. Then I changed my diet and eventually lowered my carbs, and now I rarely have problems with reflux. But Dr. Dannehl was of no help in diagnosing the real problem.\r

A little over a year ago, I had some lab work done. Even though my glucose level was in the pre-diabetic range, Dr. Dannehl called it ""normal."" So, I had to do my own research and schedule another appointment with him. I pointed out that my glucose level was NOT normal and wanted further testing. He obliged, and the new results were the same. Guess what--he again called these results normal!!! He just told me to get a little more exercise, which was poor advice, because I was already getting a lot of exercise. After doing a lot more research (including paying for my own glucose meter), I discovered that my body cannot tolerate a lot of carbs, so I made some major adjustments. He gave me absolutely NO advice about lowering my carbs or changing my diet. If I'd listened to him, I would've probably ended up with diabetes in a few years. And then last month, I went back for another glucose test--and guess what? Even though they drew several vials, they forgot to test my glucose levels!!\r
