If you are not absolutely certain you have picked out the perfect gift, think twice before buying a gift from Dandelion. IF YOU DO NOT RETURN AN ITEM WITHIN 14 DAYS, YOU GET NOTHING. No exchange, no store credit and certainly no refund.
I have never encountered a store that was unwilling to at the very least provide store credit in a situation like the one I am about to describe.
According to the store's return policy, I would have needed to return or exchange an item 3 days ago. Initially, I thought I would keep the necklace (purchased at their King of Prussia store) because I received it as a gift. When I realized it was a $75 necklace and decided to ask if I could exchange it for something a little more versatile, I was told I was out of luck.
I contacted the corporate office, explained the situation and asked if there was any way they would make an exception and allow me to exchange the necklace as it was only 3 days past the deadline. I was not asking for money back. They refused.
This is why I don't shop at smaller stores with such rigid policies. I understand that stores have a policy for a reason, but they can also go the extra mile if they choose to for a request that is not unreasonable. I appreciate the uniqueness of a smaller store or boutique, but not enough to put up with store policies that are this inflexible.
Dandelion?s return policy (taken from their website) is pasted below. The misspellings and poor sentence structure are theirs:
Exchange at a store location
1) Make sure all merchandise brought in for exchange has its gift reciept; we will not be able to except any items for exchange with out this reciept.
If items brought in with in 14 days, in good condition and have gift reciept then you can exchange for an item or receive a store credit.
