Dancer's Alley

I have to say I have read what ""Letsbeobjective"" has to say and I am bewildered. If your daughter is so amazing at the age of only ""6"" why are you in this area and not in NYC where the Stars are born. (She is six and still learning) What you do not know is that just because you are put into a class does not mean you will not be moved after a couple classes. You obviously do not know the office staff either, as they are diligently using emails and phone calls to make sure eveyrone is called back. (It is summertime - people on vacation - they do the best they can.) Anyone can show up at anytime at Daners alley and register for classes. as for the sign - you may want to get glasses as there is a HUGE sign by the main road. Pretty funny you dont see it. Plus the building is the largest around. The teachers are all knowledgeable and to say that a young teacher right out of high school was teaching bothers you, quite frankly makes me laugh. You obviously did not speak with that teacher either. How do you know that teacher has not been all over the country competing and learning at different conventions from professional teachers, not the same one that teaches over and over and over. And I know for a fact that money is returned if you or your child decide to drop out. So before you decide to write a horrible review about a studio - please get your facts straight. I would never disgrace a studio as each studio has something to offer everyone and it is for each person to decide on their own. I know for a fact that people have complained about several other studios in the area, but that does not make them a bad studio. Think twice before posting something disgraceful about anyone. more

Advanced does not = NYC dancer. I never implied my daughter was more important than ANY other child. Your sharp tongue and ability to read between the lines of clear black text is uncanny. Anyone who visits these sites is searching for a fair assessment of ones experience with the facility .As newcomers we fit that bill and that is exactally what I've provided in my review, \r \r Teaching children should be reserved for those who are educated in methods of TEACHING children . This has NOTHING to do with travel experience and 'conventions'. Immaturity in a teacher (esp while teaching children) is deplorable.\r \r Your post proves the lack of .professionalism. This is by far the best dance studio in Horseheads. Amy knows more than any of the other artistic directors in any of the other dance studios in the 607 area code guaranteed. She is encouraging with her students like no other teacher I have ever seen, she is not a drill sergeant, yet demands excellence from her students while engaging them in creative dialog about the process and product of dancing. I have seen all of the great dancers from the other dance studios in the area turn to Amy when they reached their burnout point, and at Dancer's Alley they were allowed to blossom and mature into ""real"" dancers capable of choreography and movement beyond being the teacher's robot and learning routines. My only wish is to one day move back to the area and be able to teach along side such a great teacher in such a warm, inviting studio. Pros: Comprehensive Dance Education more

well this studio i wouldn't say is bad but they are the greatest either like some girls i know say. They are very extremly good at modern and Pointe. They are pretty good at hip-hop. Pros: Pointe and Modern Cons: Some girls are snotty , to many teachers, Small Space to work with. more

i have danced my whole life in horseheads attended a number of studios, and dancers alley has been the most life changing and impacting studio for me. Amy really knows her stuff, and has an amazing dance background. I learned so much more from amy in two years, than anywhere else. I am not a dance major, and applying everything i have learned from amy towards my life and future. I can't amagine getting what i have from anywhere else except dancers alley.... it's amazing... highly recommended!! more

Okay Studio, Not the best out of the options. Try some of the other Studios in Horseheads before you come here. Cons: Unoriginal, Small Space, Expensive more
