Been a customer over 20 yrs/3 relocations. Don't find everything, but reasonable, healthy if freshly stocked, & usually good variety. Also make effort to get stuff if you're looking - just ask. Grow quite a bit at local nursery. Would like to see more of their "Mom & Pop" side & less PW/commercial farming. Plants always better quality, esp the poinsettias & hanging baskets. more

Every year we know exactly where to go for everything we want to grow in our garden. We love the fact that we can get 5 peppers or tomatoes, every one a different kind. You can get all the basics and even a few oddities for our region. more

Many Heirloom tomato offerings! 12/30/2005

If you are a gardener who enjoys hand selecting their variety of tomatoes rather than buying the six pack of seedlings offered by the Home Depot, then head to Dan Schantz. Now offering locations in Allentown and Bethlehem, the nurseries offer a wide array of choices in Heirloom vegetables. My husband and I head straight to Dan Schantz every year to pick our selections for our tomato and pepper summer garden. We have not yet been dissapointed in the selection and prices we were offered. more

Overrated 12/8/2005

I'm always hearing again and again how Dan Scantz is the best garden center in town, but I suppose the competition must be low. I'm not saying it's a bad place, it's actually alright, I just don't think it's all it's cracked up to be. Selection wise, they can't be beat. You can find almost ANY common brred of plant, both indoor and outdoor. My problem is mostly with the plants themselves, as it seems many are barely more than cuttings when they're sold, so check the roots before you buy. Overall, if you can't find a plant somwwhere else, you can probably find it here, just keep your eyes peeld for a good specimen. more

All year long, this business offers a huge selection of cut flowers, potted plants, and gardening supplies. Their Easter flowers and Christmas poinsettias are particularly beautiful. They also carry a wide variety of Christmas trees in all shapes and sizes. Prices here are very affordable and the plants are of the best quality. If you’re looking for plants that will last a long time and add beauty to your garden, be sure to check them out. more
