Giving it an Irish name and tacking a few Irish looking prints on the walls, apparently. Oh, and serving Guinness. Change the prints on the wall to, say, scenes of the Mediterranean, and Dan McGuinness pub could be transformed overnight into an Italian restuarant. There is nothing that makes it feel like an Irish pub.
Even the dark little nooks that usually feel cozy in an Irish pub seem a bit contrived and formulaic here. I can't put my finger on it, but something is just missing at this place.
The food is average, but overpriced. And the few times I've been there it always seemed like the servers were begrudging me and couldn't wait to clock out.
It's a shame because this place could be MUCH better, and it's in an unbeatable location. I hope they improve it.
Pros: Guinness on tap, location, easy parking
Cons: poor service, attitude, inauthentic
