Best

Have a great time every time I go. Great burgers, and very friendly staff. Highly recommend.

Worst

We used to go to Dan McGuiness all the time. Now they are 21 and up because they allow smoking. Formerly there would be 2-3 people smoking at the bar, and nobody else smoking in t...

mmmmmmm 10/18/2006

Best Irish Stew on Mashed Potatoes ever! Fun bar, great atmosphere and watching the bartenders make a clover on the head of a guiness is worth the trip Pros: Food, Great Service Cons: Parking more

From Good To Great 5/23/2006

The first time I went there I thought things were pretty good. I mean the atmosphere was nice and the staff was freindly, but my last trip this past week was great. My server was attentive and helpful and very freindly, and that has got to be dificult as busy as the place was. She helped us find a place to hang until a patio table was available, then she made sure me and my group got the next table in her section. We never had an empty drink and when we were ready to go she seperated our checks without error. I look forward to going back and trying some of the food. I heard great things about the Fish and Chips. Great Job Guys. Pros: Service, Patio, Band Cons: Parking, Very Busy more

decent food, horrendous service 3/18/2006

Dan McGuinness is a totally uncivilized establishment. While the food is decent, the staff strives for a bar atmostphere, even in the daytime, and you can expect to be hovered over by huge bouncers as you dine. Cons: rude waitstaff, no parking, lack of friendliness more

What makes an Irish pub and Irish pub? 1/4/2006

Giving it an Irish name and tacking a few Irish looking prints on the walls, apparently. Oh, and serving Guinness. Change the prints on the wall to, say, scenes of the Mediterranean, and Dan McGuinness pub could be transformed overnight into an Italian restuarant. There is nothing that makes it feel like an Irish pub. Even the dark little nooks that usually feel cozy in an Irish pub seem a bit contrived and formulaic here. I can't put my finger on it, but something is just missing at this place. The food is average, but overpriced. And the few times I've been there it always seemed like the servers were begrudging me and couldn't wait to clock out. It's a shame because this place could be MUCH better, and it's in an unbeatable location. I hope they improve it. Pros: Guinness on tap, location, easy parking Cons: poor service, attitude, inauthentic more

Tuesday Nights at Dan McG 7/8/2005

Tuesday nights at Dan McG are the best - Muzik Mafia takes over the outdoor patio - esp. love Mista D (Damien Horne) and Sister Soul (Shawna P) - starts up 'round 9:30 and its Free - good food, good drinks, good music, and good friends !!!!!!! Pros: MUSIC, OUTDOOR PATIO, FOOD Cons: sweet tea more

Luck of the Irish 6/27/2005

The starters are unusual if you aren't familiar with Pub fare but are definitely worth the adventure. The Scotch eggs and Sausage and Batter are my personal favorites. The meal portions are *huge* and include all the traditional pub classics with too many favorites to recommend. I can suggest being ready for take-away boxes as I find it impossible to eat the amounts provided in less than two distanced sittings. The highlight would have to be the bar, harder to find beer and ale, as well as excellent house varieties, as always quite better on tap. Service is on par with the atmosphere but they do keep you in drinks! Pros: Taste, Portions, value Cons: Smoky(It's a bar) more

OK pub, but not very Irish 6/15/2005

Lackluster pub elsewhere, but decent amid Nashville's meager pickings. Food is typical greasy pub grub, but a bit pricey. Specials are good bargains. Disappointed at the lack of Irish beers (just 2). Large patio with live music. Good separation of music outside, pub inside. Pros: Large, Atmosphere, Easy parking Cons: Expensive, Beer Selection, Smoky more

Best Irish Pub in Nashville!! 2/6/2005

Forget the rest and go to the BEST! We visited this pub on 1-30-05 and had a blast. The atmosphere is so warm and charming, the food is great!! My prime rib sandwich was tender and tasty. My husband had the fish and chips, they were perfect. Our two friends both got the corned beef sandwhich and ate every bite! The service was first rate. Now about the music....this is the place to go if you love REAL Irish music. Sean Macnamara plays on Sunday evenings and he is amazing!! Hurry up and GO, you'll love it!!! Pros: Music, Atmosphere, Food more

Favorite lunch 11/20/2004

Lunch has gotten great at this place. The whole Demonbreun stretch is cool but Mcguinness is my fav. especially for a good lunch. Warm meal or huge salad, the service is good here and there is a lot of personality which we (my office) and myself appreciate. Just an all around good lunch period. They run daily specials now too I noticed, like fish and chips for 5 bucks on thurs!!!! we are always there. Pros: Food Is GREAT, Freindly staff, Great beer more

Great lunch!! 11/16/2004

I have been in here several times now for lunch and have never been disappointed. The food is fabulous and consistent, the portions are big for your $. I continue to bring clients in as I know they will be impressed. Service on the ball. I ventured 2 weekend nights to this pub and was blown away. Wish I was single. Check it out if you haven't been. Great food, of course great beer, and the patio is a hotspot. I heard its heated for the winter, I hope thats the case... Pros: Fast lunch, Great Bar, HOTSPOT more

Check it out! 5/5/2004

Great Music!, Great Beer!, Great Atmosphere! The house band on Friday's is Soriee. They Rock! This place is the current hot spot. Check it out -- it's a great hang! Pros: Great Music!, Great Beer!, Great Atmosphere! more

This Pub is great! 3/16/2004

I love Irish Pubs, so I've checked out a few, and this one is great! The staff is friendly and competent -- I've never had to wait for a thing. Most of the food is good, although I'd recommend staying as far from the flavorless vegetables as possible. Stick with the shepard's pie or corned beef on rye, and you can't go wrong. The only problem with this place is that it's THE current hot spot, and that makes it hard to just hang out with friends unless you like standing shoulder to shoulder with just about everyone in Nashville, including Titans players, Predators players and perfomers. I've seen Kid Rock and Travis Tritt on recent visits. Check out -- you'll love it! Pros: Atmosphere, Staff Cons: , Crowds, Vegetables more

Great Restaurant And Irish Pub 2/6/2004

I have been to Dan McGuinness several times since they have opened and I think they are excellent in every aspect. The food is delicious and the service is wonderful. They even have their own parking lot which is a bonus on Music Row. I am confident that every time I go there I will be greeted with a friendly face and have a great time. I would recommend Dan McGuinness to anyone that wants great food, excellent service, and an overall good time. Pros: Superb Food, Excellent Service, Great Atmosphere more
