Daisy Swan & Associates

2 1/2 stars due to price charged. All the previous reviews are pretty right on, but why is no one mentioning how much she charges? $400 for the first 2 hour meeting, then $400 per each set of three 45 minute phone appointments after that. And she makes no promises as to what she will tangibly provide for any of it. So if you are looking for a good therapist and money is no issue, then she would be great. I did find her to be kind and warm, but where were the brainstorming sessions where we just threw out career ideas to see what would stick? If you want a good therapist, there are lots out there that take insurance. I have worked on myself for many years in different types of therapies, and was actually looking for someone to give me specific ideas on realistic career options, not another therapist. What she is lacking is a sense of urgency in getting you to your next phase in life. She had maybe two ideas for me for potential careers, both of which I am ambivalent about now that I have thought about it. She will tell you it takes time for career change, which may or may not be true, depending on the individual. It's tricky, because she kind of needs to know how much you make so she can factor that into potential careers for you. Now this was just my hunch, but I felt like, since she knew I was able to afford her $400 package of three phone sessions each month, she did not approach it with the sense of urgency she would have if I had not been able to afford it, or was laid off. I recently attended a Daisy Swan and Associates event; I have to admit, I was a bit skeptical heading into the evening, as I have never worked with a life or career coach, and was unsure of how one could help me to take the necessary steps towards change in my life. Daisy was such an inspirational host - she's sharp, but openminded, and truly makes her clients and event attendees feel empowered and included. She's very much about helping people, but also getting people together to help each other, in a sort of networking environment - and I must say, I made some great connections at her last event!
