Ok I'll admit I adore Starbucks. However when I'm in my hometown of Troy The Daily Grind is my spot of choice for coffee drinks. It's a very cool spot, with local artists works on the walls, seating areas in the form of nifty modern style sofa's and they have tables as well. In addition to some terrific coffee, they offer dessert's from I believe the Vanilla Bean bakery and they also have a soup, snadwhich, and salad menu which is surprisingly above the standard turkey club and chicken noodle you'd find in most smaller spots. I had an iced mochachino and a delicious salad which had both fresh and gourmet ingredients. It's very well priced and the service is personable and friendly :) I also usually take the chance when in town to load up on their fresh ground coffee to take home with me, the vanllia nut and cinnamon hazelnut are great!
