To celebrate getting a new job, my friend took me out to the Daily Grill in Irvine on 2/28/07 at 7pm. Like the one in downtown Los Angeles, the food was great! However, when my ...

An all-American kind of place. 2/13/2008

When worst comes to worst and I have nowhere to eat, I know I can always find a great piece of fish at this restaurant. Even when I am not at a loss for other restaurants, I will go here. They have pretty much everything, and I've never been disappointed with what I've eaten. I like the relaxed and friendly atmosphere of this restaurant, and never find myself paying too much. If you're looking for a good salad, sandwich or are just in the mood for quality American food, dine here. Pros: Food, Price, Ambiance more

Nice place to go after work. 3/6/2007

It is a very fun place to be after work. The parking situation may be an issue depending on the time, but overall, I enjoyed the time there. more

Don't think I'm going back there again.......tasty food, but poor service. 3/1/2007

Enjoyed the food..........Hostesses & cocktail waitresses are pleasent and friendly.........however, I don't think the manager there knows how to treat his customers. He seems to care more about his appearance and acting like an important person than providing his customers with good time! Not going back to that location. Pros: good food Cons: bad services more

Good Food, But BAD Service! 3/1/2007

To celebrate getting a new job, my friend took me out to the Daily Grill in Irvine on 2/28/07 at 7pm. Like the one in downtown Los Angeles, the food was great! However, when my friend ordered a Guiness beer, it was flat - absolutely no foam and tasted awful. So she asked for a new one (only had one sip of the 1st beer). The waiter said, ""are you sure it's flat?!"" My friend said ""yes"". Then to my surprise the manager of the restaurant came by (I'm sure after the server complained to the manager) and asked, ""well, how do YOU pour your beer at home? you see, the way you poor a beer is important to the taste of the beer."" I told the manager that my friend is a bartender so she knows the difference between good or bad beers. My friend said, ""I understand that restaurants can get batches of bad beer so it is understandable."" Manager said, ""99% of the beers we get are good batches. I'll get you another drink (if the 2nd one is flat), but I guess I'll have to test (drink) all the beers to make sure we have a good batch."" Considering my friend and I used to work in restaurants for 5+ years, we know how to treat our customers, with R-E-S-P-E-C-T. They still charged us for 2 beers (my friend only had a sip of the 1st beer)! For 2 people (and deciding to skip dessert since that incident), our bill came out to about $86.xx. It's not like we order one entree and shared it. After we had a How-To-Pour-And-Drink-A-Beer 101 crash course from the mid to late 20s male manager and with the server questioning us too, my friend gave absolutely NO tip. That manager should not be in the service industry. He definitely spoiled the night for me, my friend, and the server, who received no tip at all. Pros: Food Cons: Lack of service and respect from the server/manager more
