Dahl House Boarding Kennels

The people here are nice but DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE TO BE GROOMED! They've butchered my dog two times now. First time I gave them the benefit of the doubt when they shaved a huge bald spot on my puppy's head. Today I picked my dog up to find they completely shaved ONE leg, half of her neck and a three inch patch in the middle of the top of her head DOWN TO THE SKIN. She looks absolutely absurd and, of course we have pictures scheduled for Saturday. UGH. They didn't even trim the hair above her eyes, the whole reason we took her in, so it won't get in her eyes and irritate them AND, there were still very clearly tangles on the one leg they shaved and I had to brush it to get them out when we got home. We will never go back and if you're smart, you'll stay away too. more

I have been boarding my dogs here for 8 years and they love it. I have 2 large dogs that come here 2-3 times a year. They come home clean, healthy and happy. The dogs get alot of attention and care. Even when I came home early from one trip and stopped by unexpected, the dogs were in great condition (just smelled like dog.....to be expected). I feel they are in a safe enviornment and don't worry when I travel. Pros: nice staff, clean facility, alot of attention Cons: I haven't found any more

The staff was very informative and patient with us for our first boarding experience. We have a senior dog who has never boarded before. The staff was very caring for our situation. After touring before hand and a free daycare to get acquainted, we felt very comfortable leaving our dog. They recommended the ""Geriatric Lounge"" where our dog would get the extra care that he needs. Our dog is on insulin twice a day and there was no problem having this done. There is a a veterinarian on site in case of emergencies as well. We had him groomed before he went home and they did a wonderful job. We will surely bring Max back when we go on vacation again. Glad we found you! I would not hesitate to recommend your boarding kennel! Pros: Can take special cases! Cons: None I can think of! more

I've left my dog at this kennel before for only a short period of a few days and he came back fine. He even tried to run back in when we picked him up! When we picked him up this time..it was a COMPLERELT different story. My husband brought our dog home and immediately after letting him out of the car..he noticed two, about 3 inch wounds by his knees. He showed me the wounds and I was appalled! We had called on our 3rd day gone and was told he was perfectly fine! We were at ease and picked him up 3 days later...a longer stay than his previous. I examined the wounds and they appeared have been red, chaffed, no hair, and starting to scab over! I immediately called the kennel where both parties I spoke tosaid they were unaware of how the wounds happened...even the bather who bathed him an hour before we picked him up! I was very confised as to how he, if not anyone else, did not see the wounds, and would send our ""baby"" home like that! After about an hour of stewing, the bather called me back and told me that our dog was a jumper in his cage, and the wounds were possibly from him rubbing against the cage. Well, that would be an acceptable explanation, but no one noticed these wounds? If they had begun to scab over..were no longer bleeding...they HAD to have been there for a day or more. He told me the vet would pick up the visit bill, but, I know if he was treated I would have to pay the cost. Although apologetic for what happened, I am in disbelief that no one noticed our poor dogs legs getting to beat up over the course of the week. Needless to say, we will be taking him to another kennel, where if he continues to be a ""jumper""...someone will at least be aware of the pets they are boarding. more

picked up my dog from kennel with a eye infection which he did not have when I left him there, when I complained about it, was told it was probably allergies and they were not responsible for the Vet bill I had to pay to clear up the infection, reported them to the State Attorney Generals Office and also the agency for bad business practices. I was really nervous boarding my two Min Pins since it was their and my first experience with a kennel. The staff was very understanding and even suggested I bring them in for Doggie Day Care for a few hours for free so they could get used to the surroundings before they were left there for 5 days. They even washed one of the dog beds for me since one of the dogs had an accident before we got there. Pros: Friendly staff Cons: Location and Price more

Our dog has never been happier while staying at the Dahl House. We highly recommend them to many of our friends and neighbors. We always have her bathed on the last day and her nails trimmed. We have used them for 4 years. Its also nice to know they have a vet right there if one is needed. We have used others in the area and will stay with the Dahl House from now on. Their customer service is outstanding. Pros: Amazing care, cleanliness and great customer service. Cons: no cons, all pros at the Dahl House more

Nice large individual kennels. My dog loves it. A little pricy, but worth it. Healthy environment, dogs always returned clean. more

I looked at so many different boarding kennels and was very unimpressed until I came across Dahl House. I showed up unexpected and was greeted with great customer service. They gave me a complete tour of the place and everything was clean, the dogs were all excited and the staff was very helpful and friendly. I board my dog there twice a year and not once have I ever had a problem. My dog actually drags me in the place once we get there. I recommend this place to all dog/cat owners. Our 2 dogs had a great time at the Dahl House! They both came home clean and happy. Management suggests that dogs have a bath on their last day, as a matter of fact, they don't charge for the last day, just the bath. We even had one of our dogs groomed, and they did a great job!! more

Our 2 dogs reeked of urine when we picked them up after boarding them over Thanksgiving. They were wet and we had to take them immediately to the groomer's. The Dahl House refused to admit any responsibility for the dogs being drenched and smelling like they did. I would never recommend this kennel to anyone. We have boarded our dogs in many different kennels and NEVER have they been released to us in condition like this.
