BEWARE-BEWARE-BEWARE ALL COMMERCIAL TRUCKER DRIVERS AND AMERICAN CITIZENS OF ROCKY HILLS, CT.\r \r NOT one good thing have I found about this company on the internet and wonder how they can still be in business. This is definitely a company that lies and scams people by towing vehicles just so they can make money illegally and dishonestly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!\r \r They say they are honest working people just doing their job, well those are just words D&L Towing, (Number 20, Dave, Tom, and Kevin) - what you are are lying, dishonest, overcharging, thief's that need to have your license removed and your operation shut down. I will be filing a complaint with your DMV, your police department, the Better Business Bureau, and FMCSA.\r \r D&L charges more than the maximum towing charges approved by the DMV, you said it took you 2 hours to tow my vehicle - your yard was only 8.9 miles - 10 minutes away - from where you stole my tractor trailer. Why are you charging me for 2 hours?? Oh because you are liars, I forgot.\r \r Your internet web-page says:\r ""WE ACCEPT THE FOLLOWING PAYMENT METHODS:\r American Express Cash Discover MasterCard Visa""\r but you will only take cash. Why is that??? Because maybe you hide your money from the IRS, or maybe you are paying kick backs to certain companies???\r \r You said you have video so when I ask for you to email me a copy of the video - NOTHING!!\r You said you have pictures of all these supposedly ""posted signs"" so I ask you to text the pictures to me - NOTHING!!\r You say the town Fire Marshall called to have my vehicle towed - LIE!!! Guess what I emailed and called and he never called. \r You said the Town Council has hired you to patrol and remove commercial truck drivers when they park in certain areas - LIE!!! Guess what I called and spoke to the Mayer of the town.\r You said your just doing you job because the residence of this town actually don't like commercial truck drivers - Guess what D&L Towing the Mayer owns a commercial trucking company. Hope you don't tow his truck away for NO reason.\r \r You better check yourself because guess what, you just pick the wrong person to lie and scam.\r more

I am totally displeased with this company. My car was damaged by a moron driver who tried taking my car when he was not suppose to. Ripped part of my bumper off. Went there 2-3 days later and a moron manager, John M, duct taped it! Been faxing and no response, now will see these idiots in Small Claims court and will be telling everyone what a$$holes they are! more

There are always two sides to every story. What this customer left out is she climbed the gate which was locked and broke into our tow trucks trying to find something to use to break the lock so she could take her car without paying. I have it all on video and I could have pressed charges to have her arrested for trespassing as well as charges for damages to the property, but we did not. I can only doubt her story is half true, seeing I have it all on video and her story doesn't match 100%. On another note I spoke to my drivers and reminded them that no matter how impolite or ill-mannered a customer is they are still a customer and I would like them to be treated with respect. The customer service is ridiculous. They have no respect, when I was trying to calm and collective in a stressful situation. So I showed up to retreive my vehicle. I didn't have enough money. They stated that they would ONLY accept cash. Which I found was extremely shady. So then I stayed and waited there as my cousin went literally down the street. We informed them she would be right back with the remaining amount. As soon as she pulled out of the parking lot, the tow truck driver left. She was gone 5 minutes. We then called them to tell them to come back. They kept telling me a couple minutes. After about 15-20 minutes they finally showed up (to note, they didn't even have a car attached to the tow truck, so they could have waited for us). It was enough time for me to go inside the gate, start my car, and move it to the front of the gate running (to be warm) and waiting for them to return. When they returned, my cousin attempted to give the passengar of the tow truck the cash and my license, as I was annoyed and did't want to deal with them at this point. They refused and said they would ONLY speak to the driver. Clearly they had seen me, they knew I was there. So I went over anyhow. I handed him my wallet with my ID in in it and tried to give him the cash, he wouldn't take the cash and so I laid it on the window, he then proceeded to throw the money on the ground. Then he told me I had to take my ID out of my wallet and pick up the money off the ground if I wanted my car. I told him I was not picking the money up off the ground. I then called my fiance who is the actual owner of the vehicle to speak to them because clearly they were acting foolish. At first, the tow truck worker didn't want to talk to him but then I informed him it was the owner. The driver told my fiance that he didn't like the fact that I was able to access my car and that I moved it to the gate (warmed and ready for when they FINALLY returned). They told my fiance the only way I was getting my car back was if I moved it to the exact location where I found it, picked the money off the ground and gave him my ID out of my wallet. Because my ID is stuck in my wallet, I brought the wallet to my cousin who was able to get it out. I went back inside the gate and move the car where they wanted it. However, I absolutely refused to pick the money up off the ground. I mean, I gave it to him, and he was the one that threw it on the ground. Then, he finally gave me the document to sign the paperwork. I did sign it. After which, he threw the receipt on the ground and told me he would ""Do me the favor of picking up the money."" more

THESE PEOPLE ARE SCAM ARTISTS & FRAUDS. MY CAR WAS TOWED FROM MY APT && I HAD A PARKING PASS IN IT!!! WENT TO PICK IT UP, CASH ONLY!!!!!! I HOPE THIS PLACE BLOWS THE F*CK UP & THEY CANT COLLECT THEIR INSURANCE CAUSE OF FRAUD! BURN IN HELL YOU HEARTLESS SOULLESS F*CKERS! more

of course there arent going to be any good reviews, yall are a bunch of bitter, ungrateful freaks who are pissed cuz your vehicle was towed by one of the best, and most hard working towing companies in the area. its a buisness, they have a job to do, and money to make. i know personally that there are hard working people there that bust their asses and sacrifice alll of their time to work and make this place a genuine, credible and reliable buisness more

Just before we got hit with a momumental blizzard, everyone parked along the street got tags on their windshields informing them they needed to park on the grass so the streets could be plowed without interference. No problem doing that, but they failed to put tags out saying when it was okay to put your car back on the street so my car got towed because it was parked on the grass (along with dozens of other cars). God knows how many people they're screwing over with this kind of sick scam. The apartment complex doesn't care, the police couldn't care less, etc etc. Don't have anything to do with these pirates if you can help it!! more

DEFINITELY FRAUD!! After reading other reviews posted, I have confirmed my suspicion of FRAUD. I parked at 550 Farmington Ave and was towed. The back parking lot was empty and I didn't even notice the towing sign as it was dark out. They towed my vehicle to their Berlin lot and charged me $209 because I had all wheel drive and it cost extra for a dolly so that my transmission wasn't ruined. I asked how can they know where I was to tow my truck and they said that there are cameras located in the parking lot, I was gone a little over an hour 1/2. Its probably them manning these cameras, this is ridiculous and how can they get away with it? I'm calling the Policy tomorrow to file a complaint even if they don't do anything!! more

This IS the most awful place. But can it be helped??? When they're towing because they're ""partnered"" with people? We need to do something to put them out of business and STOP THEM FROM RIPPING PEOPLE OFF! Last year I had to deal with them and I can't believe that even though I moved, I still have to go back and ""do business"" with them. I don't know what to do.....I want to see these f****s out of business.... more

This was the most awful place I have ever been. The creep yelled at me, swore at me, threatened to keep my car, threatened to lock me on his lot, made me wait in a parking lot for 70 minutes ALL IN FRONT OF HIS CHILD AT 3 IN THE MORNING. I have never met a more uneducated, disgusting, unprofessional loser in my life. I couldn't pay my ridiculously overpriced $160 fast enough and get out of that trailer trash experience. I can't believe that poor kid has to deal with a ""parent"" like that. DO NOT USE THIS ""BUSINESS""!! more

WAS ON 91 DURING THE SNOWSTORM ON NEW YEARS EVE MORNING....THE ROADS WERE HORRIBLE AND THERE WERE ACCIDENTS EVERYWHERE! I WAS IN THE RIGHT LANE ATTEMPTING TO GET OFF THE WEST ST./ROCKY HILL EXIT (WITH MY SIGNAL ON) WHEN A DL FLAT BED TRUCK PASSED ME (ON THE RIGHT) IN THE BREAK DOWN LANE, PROCEEDED TO CUT ME OFF AND THEN STOP HIS TRUCK IN FRONT OF MINE! HE THEN GOT OUT OF HIS TRUCK AND SCREAMING AND CURSING AS HE WAS APPROACHING MY CAR! I AM A FEMALE WHO WAS DRIVING WITH HER 7 YEAR OLD SON! BOTH MY SON AND I WERE PETRIFIED TO SAY THE LEAST AND FORTUNATELY I WAS ABLE TO GO AROUND HIM AND GET OFF THE EXIT WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. AFTER GETTING OFF THE EXIT OTHER DRIVERS WHO WERE BEHIND ME STOPPED ME AND ASKED IF WE WERE OK...WE ALL PROCEEDED TO CALL THE NUMBER THAT WAS ON THE FLAT BED TRUCK AND GAVE A DESCRIPTION OF THE TRUCK AND DRIVER TO COMPLAIN!!!! I SPOKE TO SOMEONE WHO SAID HIS NAME WAS ""MIKE"" ...DON'T KNOW IF THE PROBLEM WITH THIS DRIVER WAS CORRECTED BUT IF YOUR DRIVING AND SEE AN D&L TRUCK PLEASE BEWARE!!!!!!!! THEY OBVIOUSLY DON'T HIRE VERY SAFE OR SANE DRIVERS! more

Never trust them they are rip offs. they are asking only cash not showing price list and explaning that as a private business and private rules even calling the police to get from them eny documentation about fees was nonsense, police also asked me to pay what they are asking with out any complain, because it was private business. more
