I have been to a lot of nail salons in the Raleigh area and this is by far the worst place I've been to. I would like to find a good nail salon close to home, but this isn't the one.
When I went into the salon, the staff acknowledged me but they were not really friendly. I sat down to let my feet soak in the water and the lady to my left was getting ready to leave. She had messed up her polish a little bit and needed a minor touch up. None of the staff would take a break from what they were doing to fix her polish. At the time, I was still hopeful that my pedicure would be good.
During my pedicure when the girl was trimming my cuticles, she yanked the cuticles on both of my big toes really hard. I was surprised at the pain, which lasted for days after the pedicure. Cuticle trimming is usually a fairly gentle process.
Towards the end of the pedicure (and the manicure), I was also surprised that I did not get a foot (and hand) massage. I have NEVER had a mani/pedi without a massage.
There are some other things worth mentioning, such as the esthetician took a personal phone call while working on my pedicure - she was talking on her cell phone while working on my feet. At most nail salons I go to, there is usually music playing in the background. At DJ Nails, there was silence. The last thing that surprised me was the guy taking a nap on the bench in the back of the salon when I went to get my eyebrows waxed. I felt uncomfortable walking by some random napping guy.
Suffice it to say that there are better and more professional nail salons in Fuquay Varina than DJ Nails.
Pros: Reasonably Priced
Cons: Everything Else
