The salon is eclectic and retro 40's ish, greate decor and really comfortable. I've written a review in Yelp but wanted to add one here also.
The staff are extremely efficient when it comes to brewing you a fresh mug of coffee, or helping out with your hair if it's going to be a difficult job. (Mine is a stylist's nightmare; long, thick and usually takes 4 hours) One of the most memorable thing about this salon is that not one, but two people worked on my hair at the same time, getting me out of there in a mere two hours. For me that was a blessing, and I no longer dread going to get my hair done. There is a definate sense of team work here, and they all are generally smiling and efficient people trying to make you comfortable; from magazines to drinks to you name it.
Skill wise. Robert and Courtney worked on me and like a fine tuned machine, they were in perfect sinc. You tell Robert what you want and he goes to town creating what I would call artwork. His skill level is some of the best I've seen and I've been to many salons from Washington DC, to Chicago, to Ft. Lauderdale to Beverly Hills. You leave Pinups smiling, or I did as well as every customer in that day.
They don't ship you in and shuffle you out either. You are the complete focus during the process and that always makes a person feel great.
I heard about the salon from many people around town who all had great reviews, so I thought I'd try it. Am so very glad I did.
Oh, and like most stylist they offer you their products they use. I have an aversion to this just because my cabinet holds just about one of every product ever made that stylist rave about, and just don't work.
The product line Pinups use...IT IS AMAZING. It actually works. i thought my first shampoo after leaving would be the typical just-highlighted-straw effect i'm used to. NO. My hair actually felt in better condition or really close to pre-lites.
Five Stars, can't rave enough about them.
