there's good menu variety+ there's nothing over $20.00 (and that's the filet mignon) the menu itself is ""home cooked"" foods - the specials are gormet-type fare mixed w/ things like stuffed peppers, whole belly clams, corned beef and cabbage , prime rib. (there's a website that tells the specials) soups are made from scratch and LOTS OF DESSERTS. The restaurant is family owned and the staff is friendly.there's the diner area(it started as a diner in 1936) two dining rooms (one has a fire place-get that one if you want a more romantic setting) ,a barroom and a patio with a nature view. this place is definely one of Middletowns hidden treasures 'cause they rely mostly on word of mouth and repeat business and don't do much advertising. what more can I say? this place is the BEST!!! -V.O.R. (bar stays open after diner closes)
Pros: THE SPAGHETTI SAUCE, THE ATMOSPHERE, gift certs+ parties!
Cons: breakfast sunday only, closed mondays, diner closes 9 or 10
