Custom Personnel

I recently moved to Redding I am looking for work. I have heard good & bad things about this business. I know people have their opinions so I try to never pre-judge. I went in there with an open mind. \r I found the owner Debra Randell to be quiet unprofessional, \r she reminds me someone you would see on one of those mobster shows. She was more concerned about talking on her phone then helping me. (she was talking about an ex-employee to someone on the phone very loudly. I kept expecting someone named Vinnie to pop out of the next room waiving a gun based on what she was saying about the ex-employee)\r I waited to talk to her for at least 1/2 an hour and was never helped. so I would now agree with the negative reviews & say don't waist your time. more

Debra Randell "President" of "Custom Personnel"\r This woman is a joke, she drives around in her black "Mercedes"\r this is nothing more then a front. This business is a Scam\r she does not pay her employees & when she does make sure you get your wages in writing! & hope that you actually get paid. \r be careful to anyone out there looking to use this business for any reason. more

I have to disagree with all the negative posts. When I first moved here several years ago, I went to Custom Personnel and they were very courteous and helpful. The owner found me a great job at Mercy hospital within 2 days of applying. I recently became unemployed and went back to see them after going to several of the other staffing agencies in town and Custom Personnel was the only company that actually followed up and stayed in touch without me having to make countless phone calls. They were very helpful, once again, and had me working at a job that I love within 2 days..AGAIN!! I am extremely grateful to even have a job in this market. And thanks to Custom Personnel, I actually enjoy going to work every day. Maybe its like one of the other comments mentioned, about whether these negative posts were submitted by jaded people that didn't have what it took to get placed at a company. I have to agree with most of the reviews...a complete lack of respect and lack of professionalism is all you will get from the owner of this company. She is money hungry and is always seeing dollar signs, not helping her clients. She demeans and condescends to her employees and doesn't have a problem doing it in front of other people. She is the most unethical business person I have ever had to deal with and, if being unethical was a crime, she should be in prison. She uses foul language and doesn't care who hears her. I am truly amazed that this company is still in business (barely) and that companies actually are ok with doing business with her!! My advice...just because she may be one of the first names in a listing for like companies, skip the C's and move on to the next company...you will never want to do business with a staffing company again once you deal with her and, believe me, there are professional, courteous staffing companies out there...just NOT hers!!! The utter of lack of professionalism within this office is astounding. It has been nothing but problem after problem. The only good thing I can say is at least they motivated the business to hire our own employees completely removing Custom Personnel from the picture. The owner truly sank to levels I didn't realize anyone labeling themselves 'business owner' could everything from atrocious language within emails to a professional business address to 'misplacing' invoices and deposits. I would not recommend Custom Personnel to ANYONE rather, STAY AWAY. more

Custom Personnel has helped people in Shasta County for the last 20 Years. Debra the owner has placed literally thousands of jobs for people at no charge to them for two decades and she is still placing people daily to make this town we live in a better place to live and raise our children. Unfortunately there are still some that are just too lazy and useless to place so they get on web pages and say things just as ugly as they are about really good companies and people simply because they do not need anyones permission and have nothing better to do. This is obvious when it comes to the FANTASTIC SERVICE CUSTOM PERSONNEL GIVES THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE EVERY YEAR FOR 20 YEARS more

I hired this company to send someone out to my business,and everytime they sent me a drug attic and the second was a sex offender. when I called to complain I couldnt find the owner only a lacky. after checking into the business . I found out that the business was in bankrupcy, with the owner hiding in another country . I think I will stick with the recordsearchlight. there are too many people in this town for anyone to go to this place .I give it a thumbs down!!! more

Looks like some of the 2005 reviews were more positive, but as of March 2009, Custom Personnel's business-to-business relationships are very unprofessional and lacking. Not the company I would select for recruitment needs. Pick one of the other Redding based employment agencies instead. There are those out there doing it much better. more

I would have to disagree with the previous post. I went there about 2 weeks ago and all I have ever done was office jobs. They had me on a try out the NEXT day and I also worked one day in the office. It was the first time I had to use a temp agency and owuld definatly go back if need be. They placed me very quickly and I have a great variety of jobs to choice from. more

This temp agency started from a just one person in an apartment, and has risen to one of the well known temp agencies of Redding. Most of their jobs are labor based, but they do occasionally come across a few office jobs as well. Nice people, professional, and a great success since their start-up! PROS: Lots of work for qualified individuals CONS: Mainly labor positions more
