I decided on Custom Metal because they are pretty close to my house. The owner of the business was polite and pleasant, showed up to give me an estimate and take my deposit. I scheduled the work to be done the next day, a Friday. Friday morning the owner called to tell me he couldn't make it until the next day. Annoyed because I had made plans, I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt. He did arrive on time the next morning and fixed the problem, which was that my gate would not close properly. Unfortunately, I did not notice the shoddy quality of the welding because I was just happy that my gate would open and close. About 6 weeks later, the gate's hinges slipped and the problem returned. When I called Custom Metal, I left multiple messages and nobody returned my phone calls. I had to call 4 times before I got someone on the phone. He said he would send the owner by to take a look at the gate. I had to call two more times before I got this person on the phone again, only to have him tell me that the owner had been to my house and determined that the cause of the problem was that ""someone opened the gate wrong so he has to give you an estimate"". I knew that the problem was the poor workmanship, and the fact that the problem had not been fixed properly the first time. I foolishly continued to call Custom requesting my estimate because I wanted to speak to the owner directly, but nobody returned my calls. I had another welder come to my house and he was so appalled by the poor quality of the work that he asked me if I had a ""professional, or some guy off the street"" do the job for me. I am very disappointed that nobody from Custom Metal even called me back to give me an estimate, or to acknowledge their mistake and offer to correct it.
